The next morning I looked at my phone, of course a blank screen. Instead of feeling lonely , I felt more disappointed. 'Did last night really happen? Was I dreaming?' I thought. I was hoping Michael would've text me by now. I figured he was probably busy. I got up and heard my parents arguing, so I decided to stay in my room until it was over. They always did this, it was like a routine. They'd argue, separate and then get back together. It killed me to see them argue. When they did, everything was awkward. No one spoke and everyone was in charge of themselves. Usually I was in charge of the house anyways. I cooked, cleaned, and balanced school and work. It wasn't easy but I'd manage to do it for the last 4 years.

When I finally left my room, I went to go make Adelaide and myself our favorite lunch, chocolate chip pancakes. I invited her over for lunch to talk about last night. As I was making the pancakes my phone buzzed, it was Michael.

*Good morning amazing person* it read. I couldn't help but giggle and blush, Michale was such a goofball.

*Morning? It's 2 in the afternoon!* I replied.

*Ha I know I was up all night so for me it's morning. But while I was up, I was thinking.*

*About?*

*Maybe you'd like to go on a date with me. I was thinking Magianoes around 7? I'll pick you up.*

Magianoes was one of the most expensive restaurants in town. I've only been there once for my 18th birthday.

*Sure, can't wait!* I responded, my cheeks turning pink.

When Adelaide came, I couldn't help but jump around and scream in excitement.

"What's going on?!" She said curiously confused.

"Guess who's going on date with Michael." I responded full of joy. I haven't felt this happy in so long.

"Oh my god!! That's great! I haven't seen you so excited in such a long time. I miss seeing you so happy." I told her all the details and she immediately called for a trip to the mall, a girl's gotta look her best.

At the mall we went to several stores. No luck. I hated everything about myself so it was difficult to find something I thought looked good on me. We walked into Forever 21 and immediately I saw a gorgeous black dress that had a beautiful open back. I took it to the dressing room and grabbed a cute pair of red pumps I saw. As soon as I tried it on, I hate it. I showed Adelaide and told her how I felt. I immediately burst into tears.

"I'm never gonna find something that looks good. I make everything look hideous." I said mumbling the words.

"Rose what are you saying?! You look absolutely gorgeous. The dress fits your frame really well and the heels make you look great! Your gorgeous Rose. What made you think different?"

"I don't know. I guess ever since I broke up with Daniel, it's been rough. I just don't feel good enough for anyone." Adelaide sat me down on a bench in the dressing room.

"Rose" she began to say, sympathy in her voice ",a guy shouldn't change the way you look at yourself. He made the mistake of leaving you. Any guy would be lucky to have you. Your smart, funny, pretty, and the best friend anyone could have. Please don't bring yourself down."
I whipped my tears and took into consideration what she said. Adelaide was more than my friend but my sister. She was basically my back bone and always lifted my spirits when I was done.

"Thank you. I really needed that" I said feeling a little better. I got back up and looked at myself one last time.

"You better buy that outfit" yelled Adelaide from the waiting area, and so I did.

When we got back to my house no one was home, as always. We went to my room and I began getting ready. I took a quick shower and began to do loose curls on my long brown hair. I pinned them until I was finished getting ready. I put my favorite foundation on with slight blush. I put mascar and eyeliner and I was set. I put on the dress and heels and unpinned my hair.

"Wow you look great! Michael's gonna die when he sees you." she said laughing. "You should put some light lipgloss on to complete the look. " she said getting my favorite strawberry gloss.

As we waited for Michael I asked her "So do you and Luke have any plans tonight?"

"Yea we're gonna hang out at my place. But he's already there. He said he's making it a big surprise and the only hint he gave me was to think adorable."

"AWWW how cute!" I squealed. Right then and there I heard a car horn. I looked outside the window and saw Michael's black jeep. "Here I go" I said. Adelaide began to walk with me out the door.

"Have fun! And Michael no tricks!" She yelled, while I was getting in the car. I got into the black jeep giggling at what Adelaide had said.

"Has anyone ever told you how beautiful you are?" Michael said blushing. I couldn't find an answer but to giggle and blush. And with that we drove away.
