jada was in her house, sitting in the kitchen with her mom while she cooked. "anything you wanted to tell me?" her mom asked, continuing to stir the pot she was currently cooking in. "no, i don't think so." jada answered, thinking that she was just being a mom. "so there's no boy you're talking to?" she asked her, nonchalantly. jada immediately blushed, setting her phone down. "oh, him? i don't even like him, mom. it's nothing serious." she said quickly. "jay, i know you better than you know yourself. you obviously like him." her mom said, turning to face her daughter. "okay, yeah, but we're friends. we haven't even met up in person before, we've only ever texted." jada said. "it doesn't take long to know you like someone, especially because this would be your first real crush." her mother pointed out.
they continued with their argument, jada insisting she didn't like him and her mom trying to tell her she did, she just didn't realize it. that was, until she got a text message from an unknown number.
