Kyle's POV
After around an hour Stan and I went back to the school. We decided that we would visit Eric and see if he got everything done and put away. As the two of us walked down the street we joked and laughed. It was hard to believe that after all these years, the two of us are still friends. Even after what happened in middle school.
Middle school
Stan's POV
I quickly ran down the street, a small smile on my face the whole time. My friends and I got invited to this other kids house. Kyle, Kenny, and I were going to walk together and just leave Cartman to his own devices. He always brings us down, and tonight we just want to fit in for once. The idiot will probably be upset with us, but he can't do anything. I have something on him. Something he would never want anybody to know. Before I could get too deep into my thoughts I arrived at Kyle's house. Without knocking I stepped inside, closing the door behind me. I could see Gerald in the kitchen, but there was no sign of Sheila at the house. Ike came down the stairs and paused for a moment. He looked me up and down before sitting on the couch.
"Kyle, one of your friends are here!" The boy spoke without looking up from his phone.
The ginger boy quickly came down the stairs. Instead of saying anything he just grabbed my arm and lead me out of the house. Once the two of us were on the porch he let go. We started to walk to Kenny's house, my gaze to the sidewalk.
Kyle nudged me with a playful grin. "Aww come on. What's with the sad expression?"
I simply shook my head. "Nothing dude. Look, we're at Ken's house."
Kyle and I walked up to the door. As I knocked the other boy slightly stood behind me. Instead of the blonde boy we were expecting, his older brother opened the door. He immediately closed it and yelling could be heard from inside. There were four people yelling, along with crying in the background. That must be Karen.. After a little while Kenny walked outside. He had a bruise on his eye, but it couldn't have been his parents. Sure they yelled a lot, but they would never actually lay a finger on any of their kids.
"Dude what happened to your eye?" I asked as I put my hand on his shoulder.
Kenny swatted my hand away. "Nothing. Come on, we should go."
With that we started to walk down the sidewalk. We spoke the whole time, genuinely enjoying each others company. It was nice not arguing for once, and it was painfully obvious that the only time we don't argue is when Cartman isn't around. Kenny and I only put up with him because Kyle is actually pretty close with him. It's strange though. All he does is call us names and get us into trouble. As long as Kyle is happy, I'm okay with him being around us. After a little while we made it to his house. None of us knew him too well, so we were surprised when he invited us.
He opened the door, smiling to us. "Hey, come on in!" The host called to us and moved to the side.
I linked arms with Kyle and Kenny, walking inside. They called me crazy and weird, but I simply chuckled and walked them to the couch. Once we got there I released them. Kyle took a seat next to me and put his arm around the back of the couch. Kenny sat on the other side of Kyle, slouching as he took a seat. I crossed one of my legs over the other and put my hands on top of them. Some other people sat around us and we all started talking about random topics that came up. After a while we realized that Eric wasn't coming. That wasn't such a bad thing though.
"Alright everybody," one of the girls called and held up a bottle, "How about we play a game?"
Everybody started agreeing, though I knew it made Kyle uncomfortable. Games like this just never had any appeal to him, but he obviously didn't want to be the boring one there. She set the bottle down with a smile.
"We're gonna play seven minutes in heaven. Any objections?" After she spoke everybody shook their heads. "Cool! Bebe, you can go first."
With a nod the curly haired blonde spun the bottle, watching as it landed on her best friend Wendy. The game continued for a while, thankfully missing Kyle and I each time. It landed on Kenny a few times, but he obviously had a blast. Our luck didn't last too long though.
Craig sat next to me and put a hand on my shoulder. "These two haven't gone yet! I say they go together," he declared in his nasally tone.
Everybody started debating if we should go together or not. Both of us just looked at each other and nodded. It was obvious what that nod meant. We were agreeing that if we did go we would just talk. After they took a vote, Kyle and I were chosen to go in. With a soft sigh I stood up, the pale boy doing the same. We went in the closet and closed it.
"This is such a waste of time.." Kyle muttered and shook his head. There wasn't much space in the room. It was full of food and a few different cleaning supplies. If I had to guess, there was probably only around a foot of space between the two of us. This was obviously ideal for the game, but not for the two of us. I turned from the door to look at my best friend. Our faces were only inches apart. It might not matter, but deep inside I have feelings for him.
This could be my chance to finally tell him.. "Um Kyle-" I started speaking, but something interrupted me.
The boy I was about to talk to had pushed me against the door with a loud thud. I could hear the others murmuring and quietly laughing on the other side. Kyle got closer and hesitated for a moment before softly pressing his lips against mine. He placed his hands on my hips, holding me steady. Last time I checked I thought Kyle was still into Heidi.. I'm not complaining though.
Kyle broke the kiss, keeping his hands on my hips. "We're just playing the game.. right?" His voice was soft.
"Oh, yeah.." I answered with a small nod.
Before we knew it somebody was pounding on the door. We walked out and went straight to the couch, ignoring everybody's comments. The rest of the night continued. Nothing else really happened between the two of us.
Present time
Stan's POV
Any time I tried to bring it up with him he would just ignore me or walk away. We got close again in high school, but it was around the time he started dating Eric. What does he even see if that fat asshole? All he did to Kyle when we were younger was tease him about his looks, and now the two of them are dating? It doesn't make sense. None of us have any say in it though. Even if we think we aren't doing anything wrong, the smallest thing upsets Kyle.
I wonder if he.. "Marsh? Are you listening to me?"
"Hmm? Yeah, sorry dude.." I looked over at him as we walked into our room.
