Amelia slowly opens her eyes, she feels the sheets beneath her and her comforter keeping her warm. She looks out the window to see the town of Radiator Springs, her home. She absolutely loves living here, since her parents left her here 17 years ago the towns residents have basically adopted her, she's 18 years old today. Amelia looks over to the clock and notices it's 8:00 am.

"Shoot!" She throws her comforter off of her body and runs over to her closet, she finds a pair of jeans and a black tank top with the words "Piston Cup" on it. She pulls off her pyjamas; changes and ties the right side of the tank top so a little skin of her torso is showing, she then heads to her mirror. Her long brown-reddish wavy hair all messy from sleeping, she runs a brush through it till it looks soft and silky, she pulls it up into a high pony tail and wraps a piece of hair around the elastic. Her face has freckles all over and her skin has a light tan from being in the desert. Last but not least she runs out the door grabbing her metallic blue glasses and her roller blades. Once she's outside she puts her skates on and leaves her cozy cone that was made especially for her. It's on the small side but Amelia likes the feeling of the small room anyways. As Amelia passes the Cozy Cone office Sally comes outside, "Hey Amelia, how'd you sleep?"

"Oh! Great, Sally, thanks!" Amelia responds as she rocks a bit holding her hands nervously glancing towards Docs garage. The blue Porsche gives her a confused eye, she's about to ask before Amelia beats her to it. "Hey, ummm, you haven't see Doc around by any chance have you?"

"Oh, yea, he came by looking for you." Sally responds. Amelia suddenly skates to Sally's side and crouches behind the car, peaking over her trunk watching Doc come out of his office.

"Amelia... what are you doing?"

"Doc! If he sees me, I'm dead! He told me to be up at 7:30 to help him with Sheriff, but I slept in! Why didn't you wake me." She tries to shake Sally angrily but there was little movement in the car since she was so much heavier than the young girl.

"Hey! Amelia!" Amelia turns to see Mater yell her name.

"All hope is lost, I'm a goner!" Amelia flops down on the concrete all limbs splayed out. Sally lets out a chuckle as she reverses to face the girl.

"You're 18 today, I'm sure Doc will have some mercy on your poor soul." Sally says with some humour behind her words, "now get up off the ground, be an adult and go see Doc."

She sits up slouching. "Fine," there is a pause as Amelia looks over to Mater. "Hey, Mater! You're comin with." She demands as she stands up and brushes herself off.

"Oh sure, miss I'm 18 today." Mater chants as he rolls over to Amelias side.

"Oh stop it, you big lug nut. You know I don't like to make a big deal about my birthday." Amelia replies as she gently hits Mater on the side, causing a quiet sound of ringing metal. Amelia waves to Sally and tentatively skates over the pebbled surface towards Doc with Mater beside her. "Ok Mater, if he starts getting mad at me, you try and distract him, got it." Amelia whispers.

"Don' you worry, A, I goch ya!"

"Hey Amelia, You're awake!" Doc says as she rolls up to him cautiously. "How's your day been so far?" Doc questions.

"Y-you're, not... mad? Amelia asks tentatively bringing her shoulders up to her ears waiting for an outburst from the old car.

"Of course not. Why would I be mad." Doc replies rolling back slightly to look at Amelia.

"Because I told you I was gonna help with Sheriff and you told me to be here at 7:30... and, um, if you haven't looked at the time yet, it's 8:45."
