A week from Amelias quad accident she checks her knee again, the skin around is still an awful yellow green colour of the bruise and the skinned area of the knee is still a dull red. It's to the point where she doesn't have to wear a wrap around it. She walks out of Macks trailer, swarmed with reporters at the race track, like normal.

"Amelia! This is your second race of the season, what do you plan on doing to beat McQueen?" A light green car asks, holding a microphone out to her.

"If I said I didn't want to beat McQueen that would be a lie, but we're good friends and friendly competition is nice every once and awhile. It's nice to have him on the track with me, it makes it feel more like home. My plan to beat him? I don't really have one. I just use the skills I have and hope it all goes well." Amelia replies.

"Amelia! How does it feel to win your first race!"

"Amelia! There are rumours about the name Tsunami, is it the name of your car? Or is it based off a traumatic experience, or a reference?" A champagne coloured Cadillac asks.

"What, what's all this about a traumatic experience. No, Tsunami is the nickname of my car. No more questions." Amelia pushes through the crowd until the security guards push the reporters back so she can get into the restricted area. "Thanks." She looks to the black security car. He just nods.

She finds her crew, with Tsunami in the pit stop. "Hey guys, everything ready to go?"

"Yep, Tsunami is all set." Vex replies. "Everything looks good."

Amelia gives a firm nod. She sees Josh and Curtis come up to her.

"Hey." She says.

"Hey, Amelia." Josh and Curtis greet her back.

"Chick seems really pissed, I'm not sure why he's so mad all the time." Curtis points out.

"Yea, well, he's been working years for a Piston Cup and the one year he did win it, it wasn't what he was wanting." Amelia points out. "I would be upset too, if I was so close to getting it but just couldn't."

"You're a really forgiving person." Josh says.

"Yea, maybe too forgiving." She says deadpan, while looking at the boys.

"We did say sorry." Curtis says

They hear the voice come over the speakers. "Would all racers make their way to the racetrack."

"Good luck out there." Josh says.

"Right back at ya." Amelia says with a wink.

She gets into her car.

"You're all set?" Doc says through her window, she gives a thumbs up after putting on her helmet. Doc then goes to McQueen before settling down on his crew chiefs post.

The racers file out of the pit road. She can hear Bob Cutlass and Darrel Cartrip over the track.

"All the talk is about racer number 63, Amelia Tsunami. This is Amelias second race. After a successful win in the last one her new fans wonder if she will deliver again this time." Darrel says.

"Well Darrel, she's still got a long way to go, she's only a rookie. A brand new one at that." Bob replies.

"Maybe Bob, but she doesn't let that stop her. I'm sure her sponsors are happy as well, with two very successful racers out on the track. The green flag has been waved and the racers are off!" Darrel adds

McQueen has won the second race. Amelia came in third behind Cal. On pit road McQueen is being interviewed. Amelia runs up to Bobby.

"Hey, hey, hey, Bobby." Amelia excitedly flails her hands at him, gently hitting his fender.

"What?" Bobby chuckles.

"I have an idea." Amelia smirks.

Bobby smiles as she tells him her plan. "Let's do it."

Bobby and Amelia park a distance away from McQueen and the interviewer. They nod at each other as they race over, Bobby let's loose a whipped cream like substance and Amelia sticks her hand out her passengers side window and she releases confetti which covers McQueen, making the stock car look like a giant cupcake.

"Congratulations cupcake!" Bobby yells as they race off. Amelia bursts out laughing and is still laughing as the two cars come to a stop.

"Good thinking!" Bobby says still laughing "he never even saw it coming!" Bobby looks over to see Lightning approaching them. "Well I gotta go." He says as he speeds off.

Amelia turns around to see McQueen still covered in white and rainbow, she snorts and covers her mouth to try and hide her laughter.

"What happened to you?" Doc asks as he rolls beside McQueen with a smirk.

"Ask her." Lightning says unimpressed.

Amelia can't hold it in any longer and bursts out laughing, clutching her stomach. "I'm sorry, we just had to."

Lightning takes his tire and flicks some onto Amelia, she gasps and wipes her face and flicks her hands to try and get rid of the stuff that was thrown on her.

"By the way, your helping me wash this off." McQueen says plainly.

"What about Bobby!" Amelia complains

"Whose idea was it?"

There's a pause as Amelia crosses her arms.
"Mine." She says quietly.

"That's what I thought. C'mon." Lightning urges.

"Have fun." Doc says as he watched the two leave towards the car wash.

Amelia grabs the pressure hose from the wall. Smiling she points it at McQueen. "You ready?"

"You always love pummelling me with the pressure washer don't you." Lightning says as he rolls his eyes.

"Oh come on, it's satisfying." She hits the trigger as Lightning closes his eyes. She sprays the white foam and confetti off but also soaks herself in the process. Her hair dripping wet and her clothes dark from the water. "Couldn't you have used the touchless car wash?" Amelia asks.

"Yea, I could have, but this way is more fun." Lightning says as he laughs and drives away. Amelia gives him a glare.

Amelia is in the trailer with McQueen, she's strapped Tsunami to the floor and put on his brake to make sure he doesn't roll on the drive home. She's changing the oil and doing some engine checks. The trailer ride is smooth enough until they reach Route 66. She's under the car when she hears Lightning turn on the TV, of course to the Racing network. She's listening in a bit but is drawn in even more when she hears the voice mention Chick. At first it was just general talk about him and his goals, but then...

"Chick is being faced with the possibility of not being allowed on the track anymore. The stunt he has recently pulled on racer number 63 in the previous Piston Cup race may have cost him his career." The female news reporter says.

"Thank god. It's time he gets forced off the track." Amelia says, her voice muffled from under her car.

"He's determined, I can respect that." Lightning replies.

"Please, he's not determined, he's selfish, there's a difference. Even if he got himself killed on the track he would find some way to come back to life just to win that Piston Cup." Amelia snorts. "If they don't ban him he is going to kill someone. I just don't get why nobody has realized this sooner."

"Yea."

The rest of the drive was fairly silent except for a few conversations here and there. The crew returns to Radiator Springs after a couple days of travelling.
