Chaeyoung's POVWhen I opened my eyes, rays of sunlight shone through the blinds. I looked over to see Jennie sleeping soundly looking peaceful next to me. I smiled softly and sat up carefully not wanting to disturb Jennie and reached over to the counter for my glasses.
Slipping them on, I stood up and immediately bit back a scream.
That's right, my ankle
I thought, shifting my weight. As I quietly groan, I made my way to the bathroom. My eyes met my reflection and the thoughts that lurked in the depths of my brain resurfaced, louder than ever.
Look at you, pathetic really. Your looks aren't even close to the others. I can't even come close to any. Jisoo was known as Miss Korea, Lisa was compared to a real-life barbie doll, and Jennie had fierce eyes that resembled a cat. Who was I? I really don't stand out. Maybe I'm not cut out for this idol life, I'm just taking away an opportunity from some else. Someone that could shine brighter than I ever could.
(Please don't come for me, it's a made-up story. I don't think these things of our Chaeyoung, she's by bias after all.)
I gripped onto the counter, looking at the tears falling down my face.
"Stop crying, damn it", I mutter angrily, wiping away my tears.
Can't even contain your emotions.
It almost made me cry harder, but I took off my glasses and slashed my face with water, looking up at my reflection. Taking a deep breath as I splash water onto the mirror as if it would help, "Get yourself together, just do what you have to." I said to myself, taking my toothbrush and squeezed toothpaste on it.
The whole time I avoid looking in the mirror. I'm scared that if I do I'll break it. I don't bother putting in my contacts just settled on my glasses. I can feel that my eyes are still puffy from crying, hopefully, NiNi won't notice.
I walk out to see her stretching, I softly smile leaning against the bathroom door frame, waiting for her to notice.
She glances at me and then does a double-take. "Oh my gosh, Chae! You shouldn't be standing right now. Let me help you", she exclaims while literally springing up from the bed. I watch as she trips and falls face-first into the ground. I ignore my ankle and rush to her side.
"Are you okay?! You need to be careful. We can't have another injured member", I exclaimed, dropping to my knees.
She looks up with her hands covering her nose and slowly removes them.
"Good to know you're not bleeding", I mutter, "On a scale of one to ten how much does it hurt?"
"With you here, not much."
"Ah, you can still flirt, that's good. You didn't mess up your brain", I said, making her laugh. "Seriously though, be careful, geez."
"I just wanted to come help yoooouuu", Jennie said pouting.
"No don't do that, it's too early for it", I whine, kissing her nose softly.
She flinches back, "W-what was that for."
"Duh, you're supposed to kiss boos boos better." I shrug.
"Yaaah, you're such a kid", she remarks, rolling her eyes, getting up and extending her hand to me.
Taking it I pull myself up onto one foot. "You should go get ready, we have about an hour until we leave for the airport,"
"Oh my gosh, why didn't you wake me up sooner?!?" She says running fractionally to the bathroom.
