Hyenakit snuggled into his mothers warm dark brown fur. She was sleeping peacefully, no doubt. Hyenakit wriggled out of her embrace, accidentally stepping on Stagkit in the process. Stagkit yawned and sleepily opened his eyes. "H-hyenakit?" He mumbled. Hyenakit almost snarled at his brother that he was ruining his plan but stopped himself. He stood still until Stagkit could no longer hold his eyes open and rolled over. 'Success!' The kit thought. He scampered out of the nursery to the edge of camp. He looked back into the dark camp. Thankfully there weren't cats by him. He chuckled as he slipped out into the territory, free and unchallenged. He hummed as he passed large trees and plants much larger than himself. He noticed a little mouse and flattened himself to the ground. The patched kit stalked the mouse through the undergrowth. Just when he was ready to pounce, it scurried under a root. "Foxdung!" Hyenakit exclaimed. Just then a twig snapped. A shadow moved through the tree line. Hyenakit realized how far away from camp he was. How far away from help he was. He gulped and called into the foreboding woods. "H-hello?" The Kit shivered as a large shape moved towards him. It's features were more and more distinct as it approached. Pretty soon Hyenakit could see a large fluffy white tom with blue gray patches. His amber eyes glittered in the dim light. "Are you lost, little guy?" The cat asked with a smile. Hyenakit suddenly stopped being scared. He was going to help him. "Yes sir-I mean, no sir," the kit said, more curious than scared. The fluffy cat knelt down to the kit and sniffed. His eyes widened with a mix of surprise, fascination, and cruelty. "You're from there..." the cat said, a smile stretching across his face. "You ran off for adventure, didn't you?" Hyenakit nodded. "I won't tell them you ran off if you let me help you back." The kit smiled, relieved for such a simple payment. "Sure! And one more thing. ...can you be my friend? I don't have many at home." The tom grinned back. "Sure. I'm Guppy, by the way." "I'm Hyenakit! Follow me!" The brown patched kit ran off. Guppy smiled, a fang filled grin exposed. "Go on, kid. Lead the way..." he said ominously before slithering after the young cat.
