Chapter 2

                    New Beginning

I never thought that everything will change in our life. Ang inakala kung magiging kumpleto pa rin ang pamilya ko ay lumaho nalang na parang bula. My mom decided that we shouldn't be staying at Tita Mariella's house for so long.  We are really thankful that they let us stay at there humble home pero hindi namin aabusuhin ang kabaitan nila.

Ngayon ay aalis na kami sa bahay nila dahil nakahanap na kami ng malilipatan na hindi lang din kalayuan sa subdivision nila Tita Mariella. They help us find a place to stay and give us money. Nahihiya pa nga si mama na kunin ang perang binigay nila at hindi niya sana iyon tatanggapin. Tita insisted and said that she will be lonely if we will not accept it kaya walang nagawa si mama kundi tanggapin nalang ang pera.

Hindi man kalakihan ang tinitirhan namin but i think sasapat na yun saming apat. It's a two storey apartment with three rooms at may terrace pa sa pangatlong kwarto which will be mom's room. Maria and Ester will be sharing in one room at ako naman sa kabilang kwarto. Kahit hindi masyadong malaki tulad ng bahay namin noon pero napagtitiyagaan naman.

"How do you like the house Edris? Mom asked.
"It's fine Mom. It's simple and nice. Ang importante naman may matutuluyan tayo.
"Pag pasensyahan mo na ang bahay natin iho. I know it's not like the usual set up before in our old house when we are still together with your dad.
"It's okay Mom. I really understand at masasanay rin kaming tatlo habang tumatagal. We should be thankful to you because you sacrifice a lot for us. I hug her so tight at naiyak si Mama sa sinabi ko.
"Thanks Edris. Always remember that I love the three of you so much. Kahit magkakuba ako kakatrabaho titiisin ko para sa inyo. Before i forgot anak, Mariella said that her husband is one of the investors of St. Joseph University and he will give you a scholarship and it's also the same school that Alina is studying right now. Malia and Ester will go to a semi-private school near our place since kinakapos ako sa pera hindi ko kayo mapagsabay na mapag-aral sa prestiyosong skwelahan na iyon. I already talk to them and they understand the situation.
"Really? I should go and thank them for there kindness. I'm so happy right now makakasama ko si Alina sa school. I cheerfully said to Mom.
"Yes anak, I'm also thankful to have a bestfriend like Mariella and her husband as well. We should visit them pag okay na tayo dito and cook for them.
"Thanks for informing me Mom. I promise to do my best and maintain my grades for the scholarship.
"You're welcome Edris. Thanks for being a good kuya to your sisters. I love you anak.
"I love you too Mom.

The day ended well for me because of the news that I've heard from Mom. Wala nang mas sasaya pa sa araw na ito. New Beginnings are not bad after all. Hopefully the new school for the school year will be the best year of my life.
