Y/n spent that whole day avoiding Akaashi and of course he noticed. He figured maybe it was best to give her some space.

The next morning, Akaashi waited outside y/n's house as usual like every other mornings.

"Akaashi? Why don't you come in?" Y/n's mother asked as he saw the teenager waiting by the gate. She was headed off to work.

"Well, I think y/n's a bit upset with me so I'm giving her some space..." Akaashi explained as he rubbed the back of his neck. Y/n's mother chuckled and nodded.

"Though, you should probably check up on her when she feels a bit better. She hates it when people completely neglect her when she's down," y/n's mother told Akaashi. "Well then, I'm headed off to work. Good luck with my daughter," y/n's mother greeted as she walked off to the station.

Akaashi continued waiting and finally the gate opened. The brunette made eye contact with the raven hair boy. "O-oh... hi..." the brunette greeted as she looked down. The two stood there for awhile and then finally started walking to school.

"Are you angry at me?" Akaashi asked the brunette.

"N-no..."

"Then what is it...?"

"It's nothing..." the brunette avoided the question then sped up her pace.

This is stupid
Why am I like this

She thought to herself as she walked, leaving the boy behind.

Y/n reached the gym and decided to set up first. She got a text from the other two managers earlier saying that they had matters to deal with.

Kaori:
Im down wit the flu
Yall might have to handle the club urselves today

Yukie:
O no
Get well soon
My grandmother collapsed this morning
Im not able to make it either
Im so sorry y/n ure going to have to multitask urself today

Kaori:
Oh my im so sorry Yukie
I hope everything goes well
And thanks for the wishes hehe <3

Y/N:
Its alright
Pls take care, both of u
And i hope everything is ok with ur grandmother yukie :)

Yukie:

Kaori:

For thy is constantly broke :(

Y/n smiled and put her phone in her pocket and got to work with setting up the gym. The first boys to arrive was Bokuto and Konoha.

"Ah y/n-chan! Hey hey hey!!" Bokuto exclaimed as he saw the brunette and made his way over to her. Konoha followed along behind him.

"Hello there Bokuto-san and Konoha-san," y/n greeted as she finished setting up the nets.

"Where is Suzumeda and Shirafuku?" Konoha asked looking around the gym to spot them.

"Ah, well... Kaori-san is down with a flu and Yukie's grandmother had a fall this morning so she's looking after her. It's just going to be me today," y/n explained to the two.

"I see... I hope all goes well for the two girls," Konoha said. Y/n sighed and agreed. "Good luck taking care of us for today," Konoha laughed as he looked at Bokuto who was playing around with a volleyball.

"Oh yea, y/n chan," Bokuto called. "Do you know what happened to Akaashi? He looks very out of it..." Akaashi recalling about the recent interaction he had with Akaashi today. Y/n tilted her head.

Why...?

"Well, I don't really know myself..." y/n said crossing her arms and sighing.

"Did the both of you perhaps fight?" Konoha asked, helping y/n recall.

"Well... not exactly... but..." y/n said rubbing the back of her neck. "Promise me the both of you won't tell anyone, alright?" Y/n asked the two boys. The two boys nodded and got closer to y/n to make sure no one else but them heard what she wanted to say. "You see... I asked him if he liked anyone in the morning and he said yes and I got really... disappointed? No, actually... I don't know! I'm not jealous or anything, I just- ughhhh," y/n struggled to find the right words to express herself.

"Maybe you're going through an emo phase?" Bokuto said tilting his head. Konoha giggled at Bokuto's remark. Konoha looked at y/n and let her continue.

"Well then... I just kinda avoided him that whole day and today too... I think that kind of made him a bit mad and I feel bad because I know I'm being quite petty about it but ughhh! I... I kind of... no, actually! I like Akaashi so much and I hate the idea of him liking someone else but I know that's wrong..." y/n vented her feelings about Akaashi. Konoha and Bokuto tried to comfort her.

"Well... you know y/n... maybe the person he was talking about is you... whenever he scores a point, I notice he tends to glance over to you. He also overall seems much happier whenever you two interact," Konoha shared with y/n trying to make her feel better. Y/n's cheek tinted with a shade of pink as she heard that.

Was it true?
Could it be me?

"I think you shouldn't jump to conclusions just yet... you should figure out his feelings first. Take things slowly but not too slow," Konoha adviced. "And if you need any help, you can come to me and not Bokuto because he's an idiot," Konoha said smirking while the horned owl smacked the ash green hair boy on the arm with a frowning sulk. Y/n let out a giggle.

"Alright then... thank you Konoha," she thanked with a smile while looking at Konoha who was wincing in pain from the smack Bokuto gave him.
