We went to Best Buy where I bought a new Apple MacBook Pro and some new Air-pods. Afterwards we went to Target and bought school supplies and backpacks. Then we had to go to the Home Depot because Brandon needed a new desk and we both needed bookshelves. We also shopped for random little decorations for our space. Him more so than me since I was planning on ordering my decorations on Amazon Prime as soon as I got home.

About four hours later Brandon and I finished shopping and paid for our furniture to be delivered tomorrow. We stopped at this cute little café named Mel's to get some coffee. It was a quaint little place and the staff consisted of three people but it was really nice. It wasn't something you would typically expect to see in New York but I really liked it.

We sat in a booth as I listened to him talk about his family back in Birmingham England which was where he had lived before moving to Georgia to live with his uncle. He had two younger sisters Laya and Lena who described as annoying but you could see in his eyes he had an abundance of love for them. His parents were lawyers so he was pretty well off. His major was Engineering where he was aiming for a Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.

"Ohhh engineering that's pretty cool. I'm studying business." I take a sip of my coffee.

"Why business?" He asks cocking his head.

"Oh you know. I am an only child so I eventually have to take over my parents business and manage the hotels." I shrugged.

"Hotels?" He questioned. I wondered if I should tell him. I had seen what people would do to you when they found out you had money. And a lot of it too. But then again I felt like I could trust him even if I had only known him for a day.

"Trident." I finally mumbled.

He choked on his coffee and I raise my head to look at him.

"The Trident Hotels?" He coughed out looking embarrassed at his actions," You didn't tell me I was talking to a trust fund brat." I let out a loud laugh.

"Yea well I try to stay out of all of that." I say and he nodded. "I really hope he doesn't google you." My inner voice says.

"Shut up." I murmur.

"I'm sorry?" Brandon asked, looking confused.

I straightened up in my seat. "Oh its nothing." I say, waving it off. He gave me a weird look to which I smile.

"What else about you Caye?" He asked.

"Huh?"

"What else about you? Other than you are rich.....what else about you?"

I smile shyly at him. "You know typically people want to talk about the money a little longer." I teased.

"I guess today is your lucky day because I am not your typical person." He winked and I laughed. F

" Well I have been on my own since I was like three." I told him. "My parents are always away because they're busy. I have lived with my bestfriend and her family since I was 6." I shrugged taking a sip of my black coffee.

Wow a really good way to ruin conversation. Way to go Caye.

He stared back at me with pity in his eyes. " No don't do that," I said. He immediately straightened up and cleared his throat. "I'm sorry for droning on and on about my family. I didn't know." He said in a somber tone.

I cracked a smile and made a joke to lighten the mood. "Don't feel bad Brandon. They aren't dead. Just didn't have time for a child."

He looked at me apprehensively.
