Shortly after I agreed to stay, Hannah left the room to go get her friend. I sat on the white U couch and admired the setting. The room was flashy, not that I would expect anything less from these types of clubs. The bright strobe lights flashed a variety of colours. There was a mini bar over to the side, completed with stools and a mini fridge. There were small white tables round tables right in-front of the couch I was sitting on and white curtains separated us from the balcony, which we could use to see down in the general population of the club.
Tik-Tok by Kesha was blasting through the loud ass speakers in the club and I nodded my head to the beat. Just then the door opened and I turned my head. Hannah walked in followed by the weirdest girl I have ever seen. She was not what I expected when Hannah mentioned a friend. I would have thought she would have long blonde hair and supermodel legs like Hannah, but this girl was the complete opposite.
Her melanated skin was so beautiful it was as if it glistened. Her head was completely shaved and dyed a bright orange. Her eyebrows were also the same color. But that wasn't even the most surprising thing about this girl. When she opened her mouth and smiled at me, she had a huge gap.
I expected this girl to be gorgeous but she was seriously next level. Her entire aesthetic was so different than what I was used to.
She wore baggy jeans that were so ripped I could see almost every inch of her tattooed skin, her sparkly green sequined top had a deep V and the out fit all came together with sparkly green opened toes stilettoes.
My mouth dropped open. Both Hannah and the girl started laughing. "Which is it? The hair or the tattoos? The hair is usually the one that gets people first." She says and I could hear the deep Australian accent over the loud music. I stood up and closed my mouth, embarrassed at the way I had reacted.
"Cayetana this is Avery Jackson. Avery this is Cayetana." Hannah introduces. Avery held her hand out to me.
"Avery Jackson? As in Jack-" Avery interrupted me. "Jackson Records. Yes." She says. Jackson Records was the recording company to which half of the artists on the Billboard Hot 100 were signed. They were owned Emilio and Amethyst Jackson, billionaires who had multiple business ventures. I knew they had a daughter that had been in boarding school in Australia, maybe that was where the accent came from.
"Trust fund brat like me?" I grin. She seemed cool.
"Its nice to finally meet you Cayetana. I have heard a lot about you." Her heavy accent sounds lovely and she smiles at me. I return her smile and shake her hand. "Enough of that." Hannah says. She walked over and grabbed a bottle of champagne from the bar," its time to party." She poured the cold champagne into flutes and handed them to me and Avery. I wondered if I should drink any more of it.
"Lets make a toast." Avery said," to new friends."
"I will definitely drink to that!" Hannah screams and I giggled loudly. We down the glasses of champagne and immediately I feel the buzz from earlier start to return. "Lets dance!" Hannah shouts over the loud music and grabs my hand.
"Oh no no no. I need to sit." I said pulling away and sitting down on the couch. Hannah pouts. "You are no fun Caye." She says, grabbing Avery's hand. I laughed and watched as they danced to Kat Deluna song Whine Up. I jumped up when I heard the music change to Just Dance by Lady Gaga.
"Whoo! This is my song!" I yelled and Hannah and Avery cheered as I jumped up and down and swung my hair to the music. Hannah and Avery cheered loudly and I giggled. I had to admit I was having a lot of fun. I knew I would probably regret this a lot in the morning but for now, I would just enjoy myself and stop worrying. And so I danced. Song after song came on and I just kept dancing and drinking glass after glass of champagne. I was definitely feeling the buzz the now.
