[10.] Feelings of Regret!

I was in this genjutsu alone with Itachi, I should've noticed it the second he casted it, but all I could feel was his presence. I was completely surrounded by it, if I had to describe it, it would be a gentle breeze which was crazy knowing he wanted to kill me and extract my tailed beast. 'Wait when did he cast the genjutsu, I never looked him in the eye I couldn't' I thought sitting down on the grass. 'If it's even grass,' I thought slightly amused by not knowing what was reality and what was the illusion.

"Can't hurt to ask," I mumbled sitting up to face him "when did you cast the genjutsu I never looked at you" I asked waiting for a reply, but he just stared at me blankly. 'I expected that what–'

"You've always been curious," Itachi said with no expression whatsoever, but I knew he was referring to the one day we had met. "You always ask questions at inappropriate times, but I don't need to make eye contact to cast genjustu I–"

"Your finger!" I smiled happy to have figured it out on my own "alright I'm done talking with you, I need to get out of here and help my friends fight the real you." I declared thinking back to what Jiraiya taught me and Naruto when we first started training with him, he always knew genjutsu was my worst technique. 'That was such a long time ago, I should've practiced this a lot more.'

"Listen up twins, I'm going to be teaching you genjutsu" Jiraiya announced which got Naruto pumped up, but I on the other hand was dreading it. "More accurately I'm going to teach you how to dispel it," he smirked and Naruto simmered all the way down. 'That's kind of better, sounds cool enough!' I thought warming up to the idea, but Naruto completely refused.

"Nii-san, this is important what if you get caught in a genjutsu what're you going to do?" I smiled laughing at his dumb thinking face.

"Well then you'll just pull me out of it sis! I want to learn how to cast genjustu that's where the action is!" He pouted.

"Yeah well sorry to break it to you, but your sister isn't exactly the genjutsu type" Jiraiya laughed causing me to glare at him. "It's true that Mito is smarter than you and usually evades these kinds of attacks, but what if you go against a skilled user like Itachi Uchiha." He said starting to get serious, that was probably his true intentions with teaching us how to break a genjutsu. We made our way to a lake with nobody around where we spent hours trying to disrupt our chakra flow. 'Wait aren't I going to fall in if I–' just as I thought I collapsed into the lake with Naruto laughing at me.

"Mito stop swimming, we're supposed to be training" he taunted "wait why're you coming closer..I was just joking DATTEBAYO!"

That's right all I needed to do was stop my chakra and distrupt the flow, two simple steps and I would be free. 'I'm going to stop the Akatsuki, I will protect Naruto and the tailed beasts inside of us!' I thought disrupting my chakra and everything slowly started fading away, but I could still feel Itachi's presence.

"He must've separated me from the others," I mumbled seeing that I was alone now so I began running towards the clearing. 'Where am I? I don't feel like I'm getting any closer,' I thought stopping when I felt an unknown presence come out in front of me. Something about him was familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it just yet or rather I didn't want to find out.

"Mito, what's wrong, you don't recognize me?" The voice taunted and my eyes widened once I realized who it was. 'I-It can't be him, what's he doing here is he here for Itachi?'

"Sasuke," I called out weakly watching as his hand reached out to me, caressing my cheek and leaning in to my face. "Sasuke, what're you doing?" I asked getting some bass back to my voice, but I still couldn't move away from him.

"After I kill Itachi today, I want to come back" he smirked looking me dead in the eyes "stop frowning loser, I don't like when you make that face." He said and I felt like smiling, I knew it was too good to be true and that Sasuke wouldn't just come back after everything's he done. 'This is..I'm still in Itachi's genjutsu, but it feels so real I want to feel this way a little longer.'

"I don't care if you like this face or not," I said feeling small tears stream down my face as our lips connected, "S-sasuke I–"

"Mito! You just kissed Sasuke!" Sakura screamed looking at me with accusing eyes, "you knew how I felt about him! You've been lying to me this whole time, I don't want to be your friend anymore from now on we're rivals!"

"Sakura," I gasped seeing Naruto and Kakashi alongside with her 'I'm not trying to hurt her, I thought it was better to keep it a secret.'

"Mito is this the person you've become? Sasuke is an enemy of the Hidden Leaf,"

"Kakashi–"

"You're scum," he spat harshly and I felt my heart break into a million pieces, but that wasn't the worst of it.

"You hurt Sakura! I'll never forgive you, you aren't a sister of mine...I hate you."

"Naruto don't say that," I pleaded trying to walk over to them "Please I-i love you nii-san, you're my big brother I need you" I blubbered kneeling down on the ground. "I know this is a genjutsu...so please stop it, I don't want to feel this way anymore."
