A month flew by, and I was suddenly loaded with work and Death Eater meetings that I was forced to go to. I soon forgot about the night I had with Snape, and my life was back to normal. On the other hand, though, Harry and Ron were still out. No one knew where they were, but with every meeting, Voldemort seemed to get more... Stressed, almost. Maybe the boys were doing something to stop him?

All of that aside, the Hallowe'en Ball was tonight. A stupid new thing they decided to add on top of the Hallowe'en Feast I never attended.

Everyone in the dorm was dressed up in stupid costumes, but my mother decided to give me a 'masquerade' costume. It was this huge, stupid maroon and black colored dress with a black mask littered in red rhinestones with a feather sticking out from the top of it. It looked embarrassing.

"Are you ready to go?" Hermione said. She was dressed up as a professor, following professor McGonagall's theme. I stared at the costume that I sprawled onto my bed.

"I don't know..." I muttered. I didn't want to go, but I didn't want to be an ass and stand Malfoy up.
"Why does my mum always give me huge dresses with awful rhinestones littered all over them?" I exclaimed as Hermione laughed.

"Maybe she's adjusting you to the Death Eater lifestyle." She joked. I shuddered as I heard her say that. I still wasn't used to hearing her calling me a Death Eater.

"Please, don't get me started.." I picked up the dress, taking one last look at it.
"Hopefully it has long sleeves to hide the stupid mark." I snarled, grabbing the accessories along with it.

"Good luck! Try not to suffocate in the layers!" Hermione called out after me. I couldn't help but smile at her remark.

The halls that led to the dining hall were dark, but not completely dark from the moon illuminating through the windows. Hermione looked around nervously as she walked, fiddling with her wand.
I struggled to walk as the dress fell under my shoes. I was wearing the flats I usually wore with my Hogwarts uniform.

"Why's it so quiet?" She whispered.

"I don't know; It's... Creepy." I replied, looking around at my surroundings. It was strangely quiet. I've never seen it so bare before - well, except for that one time after detention.
I rolled my eyes as I thought about Malfoy. I had to dance and stare at him for the whole night...

We neared a corner, slowing down as I fixed my dress for the 100th time. Hermione stopped suddenly, letting out a shaky breath.

"Did you hear that?"

I froze as well, looking up. I hoped that this wasn't another trick of hers - this was NOT the right time to mess around.

But then I heard it. It sounded like quiet laughter coming from around the corner. Hermione readied her wand, stepping back.

What was that?

A shuffling of footsteps ensued, but stopped after a second. That's when I realized who was behind this.

"It's probably Malfoy with his stupid friends.." I muttered as I stomped towards the corner, letting out an annoyed sigh. This was a huge waste of my time; he could've just waited for me at the ball instead of pulling a stupid attempt of scaring me!

"Malfoy!"

I spotted the platinum haired freak with a shocked look on his face along with Crabbe and Goyle.
