Mary's POV
It was about 1 o'clock in the morning, I couldn't fall asleep I felt so depressed, felt so alone and felt cold. I was naked under the covers but felt the cold breeze. I sat up in bed trying not to wake up Rhoda and looked up at the ceiling, deep in my thoughts I felt like I'm never gonna be enough for anyone or for Rhoda.
Mary lay back down in bed with tears bursting out of her eyes trying to be quiet so she wouldn't wake up Rhoda. "I feel so worthless" Mary said to herself while sobbing. Mary continued sobbing as tears come from her eyes to her pillow sheet. Rhoda eyes jolted opened she heard Mary's cries "Mare baby what's going on?" Rhoda asked worried as she sat up in bed rubbing her eyes. "It's nothing Rhoda go back to sleep" Mary replied as she wipes her tears "kid, it's not nothing babe?" Rhoda trying to get Mary's attention.
Mary started to sob again "oh Rhoda" Mary said through her tears "Mare what's going on?" Rhoda asked with concern as she gently rubbed Mary's expose back "Rhoda do you think...I'm worthless?" Mary questioned blubbering through her tears. Rhoda looked at her girlfriend with true sadness she hated seeing Mary upset and in pain mentally she kissed her exposed shoulder "Mare.....Mary you are not worthless I promise you that baby I promise you you are not worthless I love you so much goddamn it I love you" Rhoda hugged Mary tightly feeling Mary's tears on her exposed skin, she didn't care she loved Mary so much she wanted to hold her forever.
"I love you too but why do I feel so alone Rho? Why do I?" Mary asked with more tears coming from her eyes. Rhoda felt her heart rip in two as she heard Mary's cries "baby you are not alone I'm here I'm always here I love you so much Mary Richards" Rhoda whispered as she holds Mary tightly and kisses the crown of her head "Rho I'm so sorry I'm feeling like this I didn't mean to wake you" Mary clings to Rhoda tightly "Mary don't be sorry we all can feel like this sometimes" Rhoda explains as she leaves trail of kisses on her collarbone and neck "I love you so much Miss Rhoda Faye" Mary pressed her lips against Rhoda's, Rhoda lips curled during the kiss "I love you too Mare"
Rhoda gives more kisses to Mary she looked into Mary's eyes even though they were puffy from crying "you feeling better?" Rhoda asked as she wiped Mary's tears "a little bit because you are here with me" Mary smiled as she kissed Rhoda on the lips again "good let's get some sleep shall we?" Rhoda lay back down in bed, Mary did the same Rhoda turned off the lights and she pulled Mary's naked body closer to her and cuddled up with Mary.
Before Rhoda went to sleep she kissed the back Mary's neck "I love you so much" Rhoda whispered "Rho?" Mary whispered "what?" Rhoda replied "can I cuddle closer to you?" Mary asked "of course Mare" Rhoda replied. Mary rolled over in bed and wrapped her arms around Rhoda and scooted closer to her as she laid her head against Rhoda's chest. Rhoda kissed Mary's forehead.
This is the best sleep they've ever got.
