- - Welcome to the advanced, and quite possibly lore-overfilled world of Portals and Realms. I am the author, ona. If you are a close friend reading this and not familiar with the name "ona", it is the online identity I go by. If you are one of my teachers (first off, congrats for even seeing this since I must trust you and like you very much to share this), then same goes. Ona is, simply put, my online alibi. Ah, I'm rambling aren't I? I'll get back on track. This book is entirely a work of non-fiction, though it includes elements of my attitude, and some inspiration from real life friends. The story you see is not a retelling or fictionalization of anything that has occurred in real life. Everything you see in here is fictional and not meant to have any significant connection to real life. If that appears to be the case for a certain character, event, or similarity in the timeline, it is only by mere coincidence and I was unaware of said connection. If it is on purpose, it will be directly implied as such, or will be so obvious to relate or mention a real life happening that it cannot be mistaken for a fictional joke entirely from fiction. Posting for the story, until it has concluded, will be every Saturday and Wednesday in the early afternoon (about 12 pm - 3 pm MT). This introductory chapter does not count as its own separate entity, hence why, at the time of publishing this part, the prologue is attached to it. However, every other chapter will follow this format. If the chapter has been split into two parts, it still follows this rule. At the end of a chapter will be a little note, though not every single chapter. Most of the time, it will be there to simply talk and say my feelings on the chapter at hand. Also, I will try my best to respond to comments and questions the best I can without giving exact spoilers. If you are able to, please share this story around. It has been in production since late 2017, when it merely began as a little story I wrote in my seventh grade science class to say how much I disliked it. Now, it is more than that. It's a fully fleshed out world with human characters and other aspects that make me very pleased with the project. Before I conclude, the cover of this novel was made by the stupendously talented @/sevrot over on Instagram. If you are not following them already, I highly advise to do so. They are so talented in the ways of art, and deserves much more recognition and publicity. I've known them for years now, and is one of my best online friends that I wouldn't trade for the world.
