Friday is fast approaching and I and still haven't told my parents. Because one mom hasn't sat still long enough for me to talk to her and dad hasn't really been home either since he's been going to work now at the police department. He was hired to answer the call ins and send out the police and ambulance to the correct areas.
I sat outside with Boots petting his short petting his short hair white and black fur. His tail swaying side to side in the air as he stood with his front paws resting on my leg. I smiled softly to myself and looked up seeing the neighbors garage door open at Mrs. Hall's I was the teen backing out the shadows on a black motorcycle. I have to say the leather jacket and blue flamed helmet topped things off for me.
I watched him start the bike and drive off making a left turn at the stop sign. Huh, I like this neighbor even though I haven't seen his face yet. After sitting out side for so long I worked up an appetite. Taking Boots into the house with me I went into the kitchen in search of food or a snack at least.
Opening the refrigerator door it was revealed to me that there wasn't any food on the shelves. "Seriously," I said a loud and shut the door. I knew it was dad since all he does is eat. Fat pig.
I took it upon myself to go to the store myself at least while my parents aren't home. After going upstairs to put on some different shoes, my wallet, and a hoodie to go along with my gray sweat pants I came down stairs and grabbed the keys off the hook near the door. Boots meowed as if he was asking me where I was going.
"I'll be back Kitty," I gave him a pat on the side and left the house going to the store in my moms red 2005 mustang.

Arriving at the local Kroger I walked in grabbing a basket and began working my way through the allies collecting the things needed. More can goods. Check. Some fresh produce and meat. Check. Soda and junk for the Pig. Double check. Seasonings and spices. Check check and check. The woman ahead of me was just finishing up and was grabbing her bags. I took out my wallet to take out my bank card. Glancing up at the double doors I was him, the neighbor carrying a bag and his helmet. His head turned but he pulled on his helmet not giving me the chance to see his face. Ugh, really.
Before I knew it the cashier was dinging her bell,"excuse me miss you is holding up my line," she smacked her gum was she spoke. My eyes went to her,"I'm sorry." I pushed my basket up and took my card out.
~
Meanwhile. After the cashier took her sweet time ringing up the price of the food and I paid. I took the food out to the car putting it all in and went home. As I was putting away the food in there dedicated places mom came in placing her brief case next to the door. I looked over seeing her come in.
"Hey," I said to her in a quiet tone.
"Hi," she said to me and came over to help put away the food. There was really a conversation between us only a few words and dead silence.
I reach up to put the chips on the top of the refridge but I was too short to reach that high. Standing only at 5'6 I always have these short girl problems.
"I heard you met the neighbors. How come you didn't tell me?" She gathered the plastic bags.
"Well I knew dad was going to tell you so I didn't bother to," I tossed the chips on top of the refrigerator.
"Mhm"
"And we are also invited to dinner... tomorrow,"I came over to the island.
"Seriously, Melissa," she picked up a can of corn that was left out,"you should've told me this sooner."
"I'm sorry," I muttered so nonchalantly.
"Ugh I have so much work to do and now we have to go to a dinner,"she turned and put the can good away slamming the cabinet. I wonder why she gets mad at the little things. It's freaking free food!! "Fine we'll go to the damn dinner."
I gave a simple head nodded surprised that she allowing us to go.
"But your father won't be going. He has to work," she stepped on the pedal raising the trash can lid.
"Okay,"i said thinking that it was best for him not to come. He may eat everything in sight. he practically demolished the apple pie on his own.

Friday afternoon me and mom prepared ourselves to go next door for dinner. I waited downstairs for mom to come down. What's taking her? I looked down at my phone checking the time. Then I heard the clacking heels on the wooden steps seeing mom dressed in an all white pants suit. All I could think was about the way I looked. I wear a pair of ripped black skinny leg jeans aqua blue shirt and along with my tan sandals and Of course my messy bun. Causal wear to keep it simple. Mom always has to be the star of everything no matter where we went.
"Okay let's get in here eat and leave," she came over to the door with her keys at hand.
Walking over to the neighbors I've felt weird since it's my first time actually getting out the house with my parent in a while.
"And don't you dear make a fool of me while we are here do you hear?" She said to me in a time that would've made me stop and rethink this dinner. No telling the possibilities of what can go wrong.
Stepping up on to the porch I rang the door bell behind the door I could heard Mrs. Hall's voice,"Coming" she said unlocking the door. The door opened and there she stood in a lime green dress and the sand open toe brown sandals from before. She must like those shoes to keep wearing them.
"Hi Miss and Mrs. Moon," she said politely with a welcoming smile,"please come in." She stepped to the side letting us enter the house.
It smelled like cheese cake and strawberries walking through the dinning room to see the table beautifully set with wine glasses, silverware, plates, and a vase of calla lilies placed as the center piece. Wow, I wasn't expecting so much. I was think more like a take out pizza and Root beer.
"This is beautiful," mom said coming over to the table adjusting a few of the forks that were out of place.
"I can't take the credit for all of it. My grandson did it," she smiled showing off her pearly white teeth,"please have a seat I have to finish up a few more things with the food."
I took my seat in one of the four chairs my mother sat across from me. I could hear a door close up stairs and the stampede of one person coming down the steps. I looked over to see the boy I saw at the store and in the drive, Alexander. If I recall correctly.
His hair black like night and cut to wear it barely touched his shoulders with bangs that covered his right eye, his eyes deep sea blue that I would honestly die for, a strong hard jaw line that made him look tough, he stood at a good height definitely taller than me from where I was sitting.
Alexander walked past me going to his seat at the head of the rectangular table. His cologne soft to my nose the fresh smell of Chocolate Axe lingered around me wrapping me in its scent. He wore a lime green v neck shirt showing off the shark tooth necklace around his neck and jeans to top things off.
Mrs. Hall walked out the kitchen and started placing the food on the table. It all smelled so good and looked very pleasing to the eye. She took her seat once she poured a sizable amount of red wine in each of our glasses.
"Let's eat," she said to us and the feast began. I fixed my plate with chicken Alfredo, salad and garlic bread. Taking the first but was breath taking wishing that I could just melt from how it filled my mouth with flavor making my taste buds dance. I had to keep myself from wiggling around in my seat so I would embarrass my mom or myself.
"So uh young man tell me what you are into," my mom looked at Alexander as he was taking the crust off his garlic bread.
"Well I play the guitar, I like to eat, skate and hang with my friends," he place the long strip of crust he peaked off on his plate.
"Cute. What school do you attend?" My mother proceeded on asking him questions like a police man trying to bust a drug dealer
"College High," he said and took a bite of his crustless bread.
"Is that a public or private school?" She asked another question. I dropped my fork.
"Hey mom can you stop asking him so many questions?"I interrupted her.
She glared at me as if she could steal my soul. I saw Alexander's face out the corner of my eye relieved that i stopped her. "Hand me the bread will you" she pointed to the basket in front of me. I picked it up and held it across the table for her to get. As took ahold of it and yanked it out my hand knocking the wine glass over on to herself. Spilling red wine all on her white pants.
Mrs. Hall stood quickly,"oh my" my mom dropped the bread basket and stood trying to get the wine off her suit before it could possibly stain it.
My face went peal and Alexander tried to keep from laughing at the priceless face my mother made looking at her once white suit.
Mrs.Hall tried to help her but my mom pushed her away and pointed to me,"Melissa lets go. now" she said with a stern voice.
I wiped the corners of my mouth with the napkin and stood pushing in my chair casually as if I didn't see what just happen. She stomped over to the door opening it,"Melissa hurry up!" She yelled into the house.
"Thank you for the nice dinner Mrs. Hall and Alexander," I said to them before turning to leave. Walking out the door closing it behind me. On the sidewalk I saw mom fall from breaking her heel from the powerful force she was putting on them with every step she was taking.
I shook my head and walked home. Walking into the house behind mom she kicked of her heel that she still had on her narrow feet,"i can't believe this. you embarrassed me!"her head snapped around.
Me embarrassed you, boo boo you are a one man show on your own I thought. "How did I embarrass you you're the one that yanked the bread basket out my hand,"I said not giving off any attitude.
She stepped to me quickly and grabbed my chin,"I tell you this right now little girl. You better not try me because I'm not in the mood"she said and releases my chin from her death grip.
I looked down at the floor and pushed a few lose strands of hair back into my bun.
She went up stairs still enraged at what happened. I let things go not caring so much. It just comes to show not to wear white to a dinner. And besides Alexander was entertained.
