Chapter 5: The Witnessess

Edward's POV:
Today, Bella, the girls, and I were going to Alaska to get our cousins in Denali to witness when we go against the Volturi. The others in the family were going all around the world to find people who could help us. I knew it was going to be hard for people to understand that the girls weren't immortal. I just hoped that at least the Denali's would have some faith in us; after all, it is Irina who got us into this position.

Of course Jacob has to come with us since he imprinted on Hailey. I wanted her to be happy and I knew that Jacob did just that. I just wished sometimes that he didn't have to be around her 24/7.

Anyways, we were almost there and the closer we got, the more nervous the girls got. I knew that Hailey was worried that they wouldn't like her and Renesmee worried that they would think she's immortal because she's more vampire than Hailey. She grows faster, but she's more cold and craves blood more than Hailey. In fact, Hailey doesn't even like blood at all.

We finally arrived and I told Bella to wait the girls in the car while I go to talk the Denali's first. She nodded and stayed in the car as I got out. They all came out once they saw me and they asked why Bella was in the car and why I didn't tell them we were coming. Kate wasn't very fond that we brought Jacob with. She said she could spell him once we got here.

"I need your help, my family's in trouble." I said. "Of course Edward, what's wrong?" Tanya asked. " Before you know, this is going to take a lot of explaining so can you be open minded and give us a chance?" They all looked confused when I said this, but nodded in agreement. I turned around and gave Bella a nod, signaling that they could come out now. She nodded in response and turned around to tell the girls. She walked close by Renesmee and Jacob got out holding Hailey. The moment the Denali's saw them, they gasped and backed away. Kate whispered to Tanya," The Volturi will come for us all." Tanya nodded and had an angry look on her face. In a harsh tone she yelled," This is a crime!! You get those things out of here." I could here Hailey let out a cry when she heard this making me frown. Renesmee didn't seem as bothered, but I could see a wave of hurt in her face.

Suddenly, Tanya came at me, but I pushed her away. Next came Kate and used her shock on me asking me flinch my head back in pain. Bella quickly sped over and grabbed her hand, throwing her off of me. They both jumped back trying to lunge at us again, until Bella our up her hand and told them to stop.

Before they could do anything else, I quickly spoke up, "They have blood in their veins. They're not immortal! I'm their father and Bella's their mother." Eleazor and Carmen had a look of shock written on their face, but I think they were more understanding now. Tanya and Kate still weren't sure. "That's impossible. This has never been heard of." Kate said. Bella responded, "It's true. They were born while I was still human. They're about 1 years old, but they grow faster so appear to be older."

Quietly, the girls and Jacob came by us. " Renesmee can show you if you let her. Let her prove to you that they aren't immortal." Hesitantly, Tanya walked forward and Renesmee held out her hand to touch her check. This was how Renesmee used her gift and she this was how she was going to show people the truth. Tanya flinched away a little bit Bella spoke up," Its okay, she won't hurt you. This is how she communicates." Slowly and hesitantly, Tanya let Renesmee show her. When Renesmee pulled away, Tanya had a look of amazement on her face. She looked at Renesmee and Hailey in awe and turned to the rest of them.

" It's true, they aren't immortal." She said. Suddenly Kate, Eleazor and Carmen came forward letting Renesmee show them. When we were done, we explained everything that happened and what we needed them to do. They nodded and agreed to help us. They're he coming back to Forks with us so we can start preparing for when the Volturi comes. I was glad that the Denali's agreed, but just hoped that others would be convinced too. I wasn't going to let my family be torn apart. And I was going to do everything in my power to to protect my wife and daughters.
