When Jimin walks inside the castle, Hoseok immediately runs up to him. "Jimin, the King wants to see you." he says. The Prince nods and heads to his father's study where he spends most of his time. Softly, the royal knocks on the wooden door. "Come in." Jimin hears his father's voice. With silent steps, he walks inside the room and closes the door beside him.
"Jimin, my son," the man smiles while looking out of the large window in the study. Namjoon is in the room as well. "As you know, many royals have visited this place, all hoping to marry you," the Prince keeps quiet to hear what the King will say. "And I have decided it has been enough. I know marriage is always said to be beautiful, but at some point, you have to choose someone, Jimin. We are royal and the royal council is thinking about changing the law so you will be forced to marry. To avoid that, I have decided to hold a ball. A party. You can invite whoever you want, but make sure that by the end of next week you have picked someone to marry. The council won't wait any longer."
Both Namjoon and the King expect the youngest to get mad because he doesn't want to marry, but out of the unexpected, the room keeps quiet. Until Jimin decides to say something no one expected him to say that easily.
"Of course, father. I will pick someone to marry. If I now may be excused."
The Prince walks out of the room. The future King looks at his father confused, who seems to be even more confused. "Did he just... accept my word without an argument?" the King is amazed. "I guess so..." Namjoon says softly.
Later.
"So, who do you would like to come to the ball?" Hoseok questions, holding a notepad and a pencil. Prince Jimin bites his lip. He'd love to see that one, specific male again who he saw at the lake already two times. "All the people who want to come can come. No one excluded. Servants, maids, everyone." the royal gets up from his bed to look out of the window. Sunlight meets his face.
Hoseok frowns. "You sure? Not only the people your father always invites? You have met those before." the Prince's best friend raises an eyebrow. "I'm sure, Hobi. No doubt on my mind." a small smile plays around the lips of Jimin.
"Hi, Hoseok. Hi Jimin." Namjoon walks inside the room. "How is the guest list going so far?" the future King asks, trying to get a look at the notepad. "You want to invite everyone who wants to come?" Jimin nods without hesitation. Hoseok whispers something to the older Prince.
"What is it?" Jimin pouts. He knows the request is unusual, but how is otherwise supposed to see the boy from the lake again? "Hoseok thinks you like someone you met during your ride. And I agree with him. You've been way happier since you came back from your ride." Namjoon tells, looking at his sibling who turns away from the window to meet his brother's eyes.
"So tell us, please. Is there someone you like?" the royal shrugs his shoulder. "That's not an answer, Jimin." Namjoon folds his arms over his chest. The younger Prince sighs. "Okay, yes. I admit it. I like someone, but I don't know his name or where he lives." the young royal sighs, looking at his brother and best friend.
"Well, I make sure everyone will hear the news of the ball. In the meantime, we can only hope your mysterious lover will show up." Hoseok says with a small smile before he leaves the room to make sure the message will be delivered to everyone who lives in South Korea and who wants to come.
