Chapter Nine

Yoongi walks up the many steps which take him to the entrance of the palace. Nerves boil up in him. When Taehyung had mentioned Prince Jimin during their conversation in the kitchen a few days ago, Yoongi was his with realization.

Sure, not many have seen the young Prince outside recently, but Yoongi remembers the Prince's face he had a few years ago during a big festival. And when Taehyung mentioned the Prince, it was only then that Yoongi found out that he had been talking to Prince Jimin when he went for a ride with his horse.

So now, here he is. Yoongi bites his lip softly before he enters the room where the ball is being held. When the boy enters the room, no one notices him at first. And he's fine with that. All Yoongi wants to so apologize to the young Prince for being so impolite the other day at the lake.

Jimin, however, wants quite the opposite. All the evening, he has been chatting with people to seem like a good host. Though, no one's words really entered his mind because the Prince's mind is constantly with the boy from the lake. He doesn't know the name of the boy, so he can only hope he comes to the party so they can talk.

Actually, all Jimin wants to do is talk. This boy he met didn't talk to him like he was royal. Also, Prince Jimin has been wanting to see the boy for a long time. The memory of how he told Hoseok always he'd one day find the boy from the lake and would get to know his name. But, when Jimin finally met the boy again a few days, he had to leave in a hurry and the Prince couldn't even catch his name.

Tonight, the young royal is determined to find out the boy's name.

Yoongi wanders among the people, not talking to anyone. When he is about to leave because he can't see the Prince, a hand takes his. Looking up from the floor, Yoongi's eyes meet the Prince's.

"Don't leave. Please." Jimin says, smiling softly at the boy he still doesn't know the name off. Yoongi is about to get lost in the royal's eyes until he snaps out of it. "Uh- Yeah- I won't leave." the boy stutters. A silence follows between the two people.

"I-I need to apologize. For being so impolite the other day, at the lake." Yoongi starts talking, sounding sincere. He feels very guilty for being rude to the Prince. "You really don't have to apologize. You are the first one ever to have a normal conversation with me. I'm very happy about that." Jimin holds Yoongi a bit closer.

"Do you dance?" Prince Jimin asks with a sweet smile. "A little." the boy replies. He remembers the times his mother taught him how to dance at balls like these. Yoongi is praying on the inside he still knows how to dance.

"Well then, let's dance." Jimin takes Yoongi to the dancefloor which is empty since everyone is eating the snacks or is talking with other people.

In the beginning, no one focuses on the two people who start dancing to the music in the middle of the room. The King, Prince Namjoon and Hoseok do notice since their eyes are on the young Prince the whole evening to see if the 'mystery boy' shows up.

The three guess that it is the mystery boy which makes Jimin so happy, the Prince is dancing with right now. Slowly, more people in the room start noticing it is actually the Prince who is dancing with a stranger in the middle of the room.

At that time, Mrs Kim and her son Seokjin are standing outside on one of the balconies, talking to some rich people. Taehyung, however, is inside the room with Jeongguk. The two have been talking all evening, that is, until Tae notices his stepbrother.

"Isn't that your stepbrother?" Jeongguk wonders, looking at the couple on the dance floor. A happy smile is plastered on the face of Taehyung. "Yes, that's him." the male replies. He is glad Yoongi having a good time. Though, he hopes his mother won't see him.

Yoongi and Jimin continue dancing for a while. Only looking at each other as if the rest of the people at the ball don't exist.

After dancing, the two take a walk through the garden. They talk about all kinds of things. Such as their favourite foods and favourite places. The two sit down on a bench under the moonlight. Both lean in to kiss, but suddenly, the clock loudly starts banging. The signal that it is midnight.

Yoongi pulls away from Jimin in shock, getting up immediately. Doing that, he almost loses his balance. "Are you alright?" Prince Jimin asks concern while holding Yoongi so he won't fall of dizziness. "I'm fine." he pulls his hand out of the royal's grip.

"I'm really sorry - I have to go."

Jimin is frozen in confusion for a moment when Yoongi runs off. He comes back to reality fast though. "Wait! No! Don't leave!"

It already is too late. Yoongi has left the party with his horse and is speeding home. Jimin isn't fast enough to chase the male. He curses himself multiple times. He has let the person he really likes run off and he still doesn't know his name!
