Scarlet ended up listening to her father and rested at her house for the next few days. The mayor and her father had brought her meals from restaurants around the area so she didn't have to cook and Hunter had even stopped by with some treats from Suzie's one morning.

She had managed to almost finish the book that she had been reading when there was a knock on the front door of the house. Scarlet went to answer the door and it was Travis who was standing on the other side of the door with his medical bag in hand.

"Heard you need a house call," he said through the screen door as Scarlet opened the door for him.

"Well that's according to my father," Scarlet replied to him as they made their way into the living room. She sat down on the couch as Travis started to look at her ankle where the bite was.

"How's it feeling?" Travis asked Scarlet as he moved her ankle around a bit.

"It was tender the first day, but it hasn't given me any trouble since," Scarlet responded as she looked over at Travis. He was still the charming guy that she knew when they were younger, and her heart still tingled when they were together alone.

"That's good," Travis said as he looked up at her. "I can't believe this is the first time you have had a snake bite, considering how adventurous we were."

"Right!" Scarlet expressed. "Who would have thought a snake would bite me in my own office, when I spent years climbing in the trees and walking through the marsh with nothing happening."

"Well you did fall out of the tree one summer," Travis reminded her.

Scarlet smiled as she could remember that day so well. She was around eight years old and was climbing in one of the trees that was on her walk home from the bus stop with Hunter and Travis. The boys were yelling at the bottom of the tree for her to come down when she had lost her grip on one of the branches and fell down to the ground.

"True," Scarlet admitted. "Though it was the tree's fault."

"I'm sure it was," Travis replied as they both laughed.

"Excited about the wedding?" Scarlet asked Travis trying to switch the conversation.

"Sure," Travis expressed as he continued to examine her ankle.

Scarlet looked at him and questioned, "You're marrying your high school sweetheart and your response to that question is sure?"

"It is mainly a thing for Magnolia. I don't have much to do with it," he said as he looked up at her. "I just have to show up."

"Okay," Scarlet replied. "As long as you're happy."

"Yeah," Travis mumbled as he stood up. "All good to go back to work. I will let your father know."

"Great, thanks for coming by," Scarlet said as she walked Travis to the door.

"My pleasure," Travis replied as he walked down the steps of the cottage and got into his car.

Scarlet grabbed her purse from the table and got ready so she could head into town. She had written a list of all the things that she needed to get done now that she could move around more freely again.

The flowers were in bloom as butterflies went from one flower to another as Scarlet walked on one of the pathways through the park area. She was making her way to Harley's Hardware Store at the corner, so she could order some furniture and supplies for the house and the office.

As she opened the door to the store the bell rang and Chase made his way from the back room to the front counter. He smiled as soon as he saw Scarlet walk come through the door, "Scarlet, it is so nice to see you!"
