The sun was starting to set over the town as all of the patio lights hanging among the trees and pavilion turned on in the park. There were tables set up throughout the park and the sound of music from the band in the pavilion began to be heard through the town.
"Do you think we are ready?" AnnaBeth asked as she turned towards Magnolia.
"Of course we are," Magnolia replied as she looked out over the park. They were standing in front of the table that had rows of food laid out for everyone that would come into the park. The ladies had decided to host a dinner in the park as the way to get the word out about their new catering business.
"Hello!" AnnaBeth expressed as she walked towards the end of the table to greet the first person that came to their event. She walked with them down the table as she told them all about the pan-fried chicken, collard greens, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, cornbread, peach pie and blackberry cobbler that she had cooked for the dinner.
It wasn't long until the park was filled with people who were sitting at the tables or standing around listening to the music as they ate their food.

Scarlet had walked into the park and made her way to the table were Magnolia and AnnaBeth were talking, "Congratulations! It looks like this has gone over well with everyone."
"Thank you," AnnaBeth replied as she handed a plate to Scarlet.
"It is really remarkable," Magnolia told Scarlet. "I've even started to book orders."
"That's amazing," Scarlet expressed. "I'm so glad this has worked out for you both."
"Thanks," Magnolia replied. "Please go get some food."
Scarlet nodded at the ladies as she made her way down the table. She made sure to get a bit of everything on the plate because she knew that she couldn't go wrong with anything that AnnaBeth made.
She made her way to one of the benches that were in the park and sat down to eat her plate of food. She took a bite of the cornbread as she felt a hand brush across her shoulder causing her to look up.
"Hey," Hunter said as he sat down next to her on the bench.
"Hey," Scarlet replied as she looked at him. "Have you tried the food yet?"
"I tried a bit earlier today," Hunter replied, as he smiled at Scarlet. "What are you doing tomorrow?" he continued as she took another bite of the food.
"Nothing that I know of," Scarlet answered.
"Do you want to go on a picnic with me tomorrow?" Hunter asked her.
"That sounds great!" Scarlet expressed as she nodded at him. "Here, try the mac and cheese, it's so good."
Scarlet got a fork full of the pasta off of her plate and fed it to Hunter as they heard a sound of a toddler giggling next to them. Scarlet looked in the direction of the pathway and saw Chase with Clementine and Darcy.
"Hi," Scarlet said, as she looked at them. "How are you?"
Chase was trying to hold Darcy in his hands, but she didn't want to sit still. Darcy had curly light brown hair and beautiful green eyes just like her mother. Both Clementine and Chase looked at Darcy with so much love in their eyes even though they looked like they were being worn out by the toddler.
"We're doing well. How are you two?" Chase asked, as he adjusted Darcy, who was squirming in his arms.
"We're really good. The food is delicious and the band is great," Scarlet answered.
