Look,i didn't ask to be a superhero.I was just a regular guy,trying to survive high school and then BAM suddenly i had superpowers.It's not as cool as it sounds.It's scary and dangerous and often times life-changing-in both good and bad ways.Wanna know the details?Read my story.

My name is Todoroki Shouto.I'm 15 years old and a student at UA high school,Japan.It's an elite school that is very hard to get into but i managed to make it in thanks to my wealthy and well-known family.There,i met my first friend:Midoriya Izuku.You're probably wondering 'Wait,Todoroki,how come you haven't had any friends 'til now?'.You see,my father is...not a good person.He isolated me and my siblings from the world,never letting us form friendship that he knew of.He also beat us and our mother.To the point where he killed our brother Touya by setting him aflame and drove Mother to pour boiling water over my face when i was a child because i started to look so much like him.She's in the hospital now.

Onto better topics,Midoriya is wonderful.He is kind and humble and the exact opposite of my father-everything i could ever want in a friend.We formally meet during the sports festival-we got teamed up and got to talking and discovered we had a lot in common.He knew pain just like i did-he'd been bullied for 10 years by his classmates for being shy and his father bhad abandoned him.We formed an unbreakable bond and now i go to his house after school at least once a week.His mother,Inko,is just as sweet and hardworking as he is.

I'll tell you more about my family Later.Right now,let's Focus on that fateful day.

My class was going to a field trip to a science museum.I could hear the chatter around me on the bus,of various topics.Food,homework,video games,crushes.My classmates were a unique bunch.

Midoriya turned to me,"What are you most excited for?"

I shrugged,not sure,"I dunno.What are you most excited for?"I knew he'd love that question.

Midoriya beamed like a sunflower and proceeded to infodump about science while i listened fiercely.

"Alright,be quiet."Mr.Aizawa,our homeroom teacher,said eventually.I hadn't noticed the bus had stopped,too busy listening to my best friend."Everyone formed a single file and exit slowly."We exited quickly and i took the opportunity to look at what everyone was doing.Kirishima Eijirou and Kaminari Denki were goofing around as always,arms slung around eachother's shoulders.Ashido Mina's and Jirou Kyouka's hands brushed against eachother's and the latter jerked their's* back while both of them blushed.Hagakure Tooru shook her head fondly.Rikidou Satou was raving about a new recipe he'd tried out as Tokoyami Fumikage and Kouda Koji listened intently.The rest of the class was relatively calm.

The museum was amazing.I was pretty sure i looked like an awed little kid.I was so distracted by a T-Rex exhibition that i accidentally bumped into someone.

"Ah,sorry-"My breath caught in my throat as i saw who it was.Yaoyorozu Momo!

Her dark brown* skin was as beautiful as ever,as were her raven her and obsidian eyes which were accentuated by the rose eyes Shadow she was wearing today.Her plump lips uttered reassurance.

"Don't worry,i'm alright!"

My voice cracked as i spoke,"T-THAT'S GREAT!Greaty great great!Just great!"

'Stop saying great,you idiot!'My brain screamed at me.Yaoyorozu gave me a concerned look.

"Todoroki-san,are you alright?Your face is turning the same color as the left side of your hair."

"Yeah,i'm great!BYE!"I ran back to Midoriya,who looked amused.

"So you still can't talk to Yaomomo,huh?"

Before i could tell him to shut up,i felt a strong stinging sensation on my left hand.I looked down to see a red and blue spider biting me.I flicked it and looked back up to a surprised Midoriya.

"Well,that was random.How'd it even get there?"His expression changed to amused again,"Don't tell me you were too distracted by Yaomomo to notice it."

My face burned again,knowing he'd guessed right and he doubled over laughing as i told him to shut up.

The rest of the day went by pretty normal,with no more Yaoyorozu encounters and before i knew it,it was time to go home.Midoriya and i said goodbye and i went home.

"Welcome home,Shouto!"My older sister,Fuyumi,greeted me as i entered the living room.She was watching a tv drama.

"Hey!How was work?"I sat down next to her on the couch as she told me about her day.

After dinner,i went to take a shower.Now this is when stuff get's weird.Get this-As i was taking off my binder*,webbing shot out of my hands!Naturally,like any person,i screamed loudly.Fuyumi came running to the bathroom and knocked furiously on the door.

"SHOUTO!What happened?"

I paled.I couldn't let her see this!What would she think?!

"Uh,nothing!Just saw a spider!Don't worry,i killed it!"

I heard her sigh in relief,"Oh thank goodness,i thought something bad had happened."She walked away,presumably back to her room.

I then realized my heart was pounding in my chest and put a hand over it but then i remembered what i just did and got it as far away as i could without tearing it off.

What the fuck?

Wait.

Webbing.

Spiders shoot webbing.

I'd been bitten by a spider.

No ordinary spider.

"The spider gave me superpowers..."I whispered as lowly as i could,trying to process this.

I was a mutant now,in a world that hated mutants.

Just when i thought my life was getting better.
