I didn't sleep that night.How could i?My whole life had been flipped upside down in literal seconds.How were you even supposed to react to getting superpowers?Being a mutant.I'd never hated mutants-my mother taught me that they were just as human as us non-powered people-but almost everyone else did.If anyone at school found about this...If my father found out about this...

I clenched my fists tightly.No.I wasn't going to let that happen.He could never find out.That morning,i put on my black biker gloves that my older brother,Natsuo,had given me when he taught me how to ride a motorcycle and headed out after eating a sandwitch,giving Fuyumi a peck on the cheek once i finished it.

"Good morning,Todoroki!"Midoriya jogged over to me on my way to school,grinning.I gave him a small smile,still stressed.

"Good morning,Midoriya."

We chatted about random things along the way and i began to relax somewhat,forgetting about my powers somewhat.Then when we got to the school's entrance,i saw Yaoyorozu talking to the rest of the girls and Jirou and my brain short circuited.She looked just as etheral as the first time i saw her,an angelic laugh leaving her body.I remembered the first time we met.I'd forgotten my math book at my mother's when i'd visited her the day before and she'd offered to share her's with me.We had lunch together that day.I'd brought soba and she'd brought eggrolls.We shared it with eachother and after getting to talking,found out we both loved reading and video games.I wanted to offer to let her come over to my house to play something but then our other friends came to get us.After that,i developed a crush on her and was always too flustered to speak to her again.She's so sweet and earnest and kind.

She's her.I'm me.A spiderfreak.

My lungs were suddenly in pain.I couldn't breath.My legs moved on their own as i ran to the boy's bathroom,ignoring Midoriya's call of 'Todoroki!'.Thankfully,no other boys were in there.I locked myself in a stall,put the toilet Seat down and sat.My face felt wet as tears leaked from my eyes.

She's never going to want to be friends with me,much less fall in love with me.Never.

My breakdown had to be put on pause as the bell rang.I quickly wiped my eyes with my sleeves and hitched up my backpack as i stood.I was met with the sight of Midoriya nervously stimming as he waited for me outside the bathroom door as i excited.

"Todoroki!"He said,"What happened?You just ran off!"

"I'll tell you later."I responded as i walked past,"Come on,we don't want to be late for class."

He frowned but reluctantly followed me.

I avoided looking at Yaoyorozu for the rest of the day,trying to not think of her.During gym,Ms.Kageyama announced we'd be having a joint class with 1-B(Our class is 1-A),causing us to groan in unison.Now don't get us wrong,most of class 1-B is awesome but with them comes a package:Monoma Neito,aka the biggest asshole in school.He just loves starting shit with us.I guess he thinks he's helping 1-B's rep but he sucks at it.

And wouldn't you know it,he was proving his image right now!By hitting on Yaoyorozu,who couldn't be less interested.

"So,you free tonight?"

"Sorry,my parents don't let me date."

Monoma's smug smirk widened,raising his hands in mock defense."Woah,woah,woah!Who said anything about dating?"He leaned forward and she leaned back,"Although now that you mention it..."He purred and i felt fury bubbling up in my chest.I stomped and lifted up Monoma by his shirt,surprising myself and everyone else with my sudden strength.I wasn't neccesarily scrawny but i was by no means buff either so why could i suddenly-WAIT-ANOTHER POWER!
