The Kiss of Betrayal

Chapter 9

         My heart just shattered into a million pieces. I felt each piece slowly dying. Ca- Tiberias just betrayed me. Any one can betray anyone. I look at the ring he gave me. I look up at Amelia and Tiberias. They smile at each other. Then, they kiss. Whatever parts of my heart remained, are now gone. I feel my blood boil, I can't take it. I trusted him with everything, he lied to me. " Mare calm down." Kilorn says. I don't listen to him. The lights start to flicker. Then one by one the lights pop, and shatter. Sparks run all along my body. They go through my hair. I feel so powerful right now. I walk up to Tiberias and glare at him. I take the ring that he gave me, and throw it at him. It cuts his forehead. Then I turn my attention towards Amelia. She smirks at me. I loose control, I send a bolt at her, just enough to cause permanent damage. Tiberias just looks at me and his hand turns to flams. I smirk, I'm not scared of him. He sends a fire ball towards me. It hits my arms. I don't feel the pain, I let it fuel me. My sparks become stronger. My grey ends are now being overtaken by a dark purple. The color starts to creep up my hair engulfing my chocolate brown hair. " let's take this outside Tiberias." I growl. He flinches at his name. We walk slowly outside to the court yard. I rip my dress. My eyes glow with anger. The sky starts to fill with dark, angry clouds. I send a lightning bolt in his direction. He engulfs most of the sparks, and they become flames. He sends a fire ball again. It hits me square in the chest. This isn't the Tiberias I know. We might hate each other, but he wouldn't do anything to hurt me. This catches me off guard. My chest burns, I feel the heat take over my body. I definitely have a 3 degree burn. I scream in pain. Tiberias dose nothing. Then I notice something. I grab control of my lightning and my sparks go away. His hands are still ablaze. I turn my head to the side.

        " Tiberias, what happened that one night you taught me how to dance?" I walk towards him. He has a confused look on his face. " I- we hugged?" He says. This isn't him. I knew his eyes look distant. " Cal, fight it. Please I know someone is controlling you." I grab his arm. He looks angry. " don't touch me, and don't call me that. Just to let you know little lightning girl, I never loved you." He says and sends another ball of fire my way. It burns my legs, and arms. The pain is unbearable. Black spots cover my vision. My head hurts, I'm dizzy. I fall to the ground. I see Tiberias looking down onto me. I look at him " I love you." I say weakly. Then all goes black.

         I wake up in a room. I can't move my arms and legs. The pain is still there. It hurts to breathe. Then I see Sara, and Julian walk in. I smile, since I can't talk. Julian sits next to me. Sara comes over to me and touches my legs. A warm sensation goes through my legs, arms, and chest. I can move again. " thank you Sara." I say. She smiles and nods. She leaves Julian and I. " well don't you look different Mare." I look at him strangely. " what do you mean." He points to a mirror, I sit up and look at myself. Half of my hair is purple. I get up and wobble a little. I walk over to the mirror and look at my eyes. One is the same, but the other is purple. My eyes go wide. What happened to me? I think. As if Julian read my mind he answered " you went out of control, and since that happened, it effected some things. It suits you though." He says and smiles. " it does don't it." I say. " oh Julian how is Tiberias?" I ask. " He is fine, but something is off he would never hurt you like that." He replies. " I know I think Amelia is controlling him, because when we helped Maven she was staring at me like she wanted to kill me. Then she was looking at Tiberias, and she looked like she wanted to do something awful." He look shocked. I usually don't connect the dots, but this time I did. "Also how bad did I hurt her?" I ask. Julian just shakes his head. "You about killed her, you damaged her never system, fried her brain, and much more." I feel awful for what I did, even though she kinda derived it. " I'll go see her." I say. Julian gets up and hugs me. "We will figure this out." He says. I  nod and walk out. I walk to the Medical wing. I may sound like I'm the same, but I'm not. I have turned cold. I just put on a act for Julian, so he doesn't have to worry. My face is expressionless. I don't really care what happens to me now. I don't care about anyone, or anything. I make it to her room, and find Tiberias there. He sees me and his hand becomes aflame again. I just look at him. I don't really care. I don't have a heart anymore. He just glares at me. I look at him with a neutral look. "You will regret this Mare." He says. "Go ahead and kill me Tiberias, I don't give a damn about what you do to me. You have already made me cold. I don't care anymore. So please burn me to a crisp, burn me until nothing is left, I won't even make a sound." He looks shocked. I walk out of the room. I see Maven in the Hallway. He walks up to me. " Hey Mare." He stops and looks at me. "Oh no Mare, you turned into cold evil me." He says. "Ok and?" I say.  He hugs me. I don't hug back. I don't even want to be around anyone anymore. "I will kill my brother for doing this to you." He says. "That isn't your brother, that's Amelia controlling your brother." I say. "Let's go." He drags me into the dinning room. Everyone is eating breakfast. " why am I here?" I say. "You aren't the Mare I know, and I'm going to help you with that." We walk towards everyone. I see Evangeline, Elaine, Farley, Kilorn, Cameron, and Thomas. I sit down next to Maven. " Good Morning everyone." Maven says. I don't talk at all, I just slump, and stare at the wall. I don't want to talk to anyone. "Mare what's wrong?" Farley asks. I just look at her. She understands and stops talking. I just want to kill Amelia, I want to make her pay for everything she did. I want to make her suffer a long and painful death. "Im going to kill her." Everyone looks at me with wide eyes. I smile evilly.
