Madison woke up to a strange sound, (just like almost every night) but when she sat up to see what it was, all she could hear was the sound of the wind blowing through her window. The moon light was shining so bright, it was brighter then the fire on a torch. She lay back down and attempted to fall back asleep, but failed.

Eventually May (which is what her friends called her, or at least they would if she had friends) got out of bed to eat breakfast. It was no use laying in bed doing nothing, she could've at least made herself something to eat. So that was what she did, or at least tried to do. May went to her cupboard to find one single piece of bread. In the other cupboard, berries from her struggling garden. In the last cupboard, there was nothing. Obviously it was a sign to go to the market, but she did not have enough to get anything. This meant she would have to save the little food she had.

She sat down at the small table in her kitchen, and stared out the window at the sun. It was only dawn, nobody would be awake at that time. Except for maybe Ms. Hagimire. She was a cranky lady who lived not too far from May. She almost never approved of anyone but herself.
"You should be more like me!" She would always say, yet nobody wanted to be like her at all. She made life harder on May. Since Ms. Hagimire lived right next to May, Ms. Hagimire would always boss and pick on her. May and everyone else tried to stay away from her as much as possible. But it was hard for May, especially since when Ms. Hagimire is on her daily jog, she stops at May's cottage everyday at dawn to give her some "helpful" pointers on how to please people. Though it's not like Ms. Hagimire knew how to please people. But on the other hand, neither did May. Nobody seemed to like May and she could never figure out why. She lived with it of course, she certainly wasn't going to tell Ms. Hagimire to back off.

Right now was about the time when Ms. Hagimire came to May's cottage. But for some reason, Ms. Hagimire hadn't come yet. It was not like Ms. Hagimire to miss a deadline, something was probably wrong. May went to Ms. Hagimire's home to see what was going on, just because that was the kind of person she was. Even if she didn't like someone, she still worried.

It seemed like May got to Ms. Hagimire's home way too quickly. It always seemed like time went by too fast when you were nervous. Finally May got to Ms. Hagimire's home. It was a small cottage just like May's cottage, but Ms. Hagimire's cottage was bigger.

Suddenly, May heard a faint yelp, and then the sound of a pot smashing to the ground. May rushed to the door, and gave a few short and crisp knocks. The only response was a loud yell.
"Ms. Hagimire?!" May shouted with worry. She could hear her screaming, followed by bangs and crashes of what sounded to be fragile and expensive things. May tried to open the door, but it was locked. She jiggled the handle, but it showed no help.
"Ms. Hagimire! Are you okay?!" May repeated, she couldn't tell what was going on, but it was bad.

May had to do something, and fast. She looked around the outside of the house, but found nothing. The only hope was to try opening the door again. May did not think it would work, but luckily at that moment Ms. Hagimire ran into the door and unlocked the house. May barged in as fast as she could to try and help. May ended up breaking the door, and stumbling to the floor. When she looked up, a swarm of giant bees shot out into the open air.

May stood up, and brushed off the dust that clung to her yellow frilly dress. There standing in front of her, was Ms. Hagimire. Her hair was in a sagging bun that looked more like a birds nest scattered across her head. She was standing in an awkward position, while holding a broom for a weapon. Her teeth were gritting and her eyes seemed they were going to pop right out of her head. She was so mad, that May could feel Ms. Hagimire's stare.

"You little rat! Look what you have done to my home!" Ms. Hagimire howled.
May looked around the room. There was a broken window, a few chairs laying on the ground, a dent in the table, and a broken pot scattered across the floor (not even mentioning the broken door).
"I didn't do this, I just got here!" she responded.
"You put those blasted bees in my house so that I would grief my own home!" She said in a horrid voice.
"Me?!" May asked having no clue what had just happened.
"You are the only one here! You are putting on quite the act little missy, but I can see straight through you!" Ms. Hagimire growled.
"If you think I did this, I can assure you that..." May tried to protest, but was interrupted.
"Get out of my house! Get! And take your big fat lies with you, you little piece of rubbish!" She screamed in anger.

May didn't hesitate at all. She ran out of the house, scared that Ms. Hagimire would say anything more. The wind blew againced May's face, it was about to rain. It was perfect timing too. May got into the house just in time. Going over to Ms. Hagimire's house was a horible idea. May didn't know what she was thinking. Ms. Hagimire didn't like her anyways, so why would it make her feel any better for her to check on her?

May started to think that everyone was better off without her. Right then, May reliesed what she had to do, but she wasn't going to like doing it.
