Filming was something that brought you a lot of joy. It provided you an expressive outlet for your creativity and a place to dump your emotions. It was a hobby that never failed to keep you away from boredom. Your friends could have sworn that your life revolved around what was being captured on your camera lens.
It didn't matter what you were recording. You had a way of making nothing into something.
You had a job filming for a small YouTube channel but you saw that it wasn't taking off. Everyone else involved were already looking at other job listings behind the owner's back and moving on. It was sad to see everyone leave, then again you didn't see yourself staying there much longer anyway. You wanted to be apart of something bigger but first you needed to find a new job.
The first place you went to look at jobs were on the stereotypical listing sites that seem to go on forever. You would find one here or there that sounded interesting but you had to be licensed.
"'Drop out of college. Youtube is worth it,' They said" You thought sarcastically letting out a soft sigh.
You managed to find two film related job listings to apply to that you were interested in and actually able to apply for. All you could do is hope for a call back.
The final video went up on the YouTube channel the following week and you still had not received any call backs. You managed to apply for a few more positions too.
One restless night you found yourself scrolling through social media when a tweet caught your eye.
After your last experience with YouTube, the idea of going back to filming for another channel sounded ridiculous. The last channel proved that you couldn't count on it as a stable income. You kept scrolling.

You had made yourself dinner and put on a movie from Netflix. Still not one new email or call from any of the job listings you applied for. You thought back to the tweet you saw earlier. What would be the harm in just applying for the position? It's not like anyone else was getting back to you.
After you typed up a resume and gathered a few videos together, you went ahead and submitted them. You figured it would end up like the other job listings where you wouldn't hear a response back.
You did a quick search on YouTube for MrBeast. You knew who he was but you didn't watch him. Might as well check out a few of his videos since you did just apply for a job with him. A few challenges and thousands of dollars later, you fell asleep.
An alert from a notification got your attention and woke you up. You grabbed your phone off the floor, almost falling yourself.
One new email.
Here goes nothing. It could just be spam for all you know. You opened the app to see a new email from MrBeast Official. It was a reply to your application. You were nervous to open it. The first response back from any company and you were scared of rejection. Reluctantly, you gained the courage to open the email and to your surprise you got the job.
You were overwhelmed but happy at the same time. Finally, you didn't have to worry about job hunting anymore. You could finally take a deep breath.
