(Violet's POV)
When I woke up the next morning I felt incredibly warm, which was weird considering I'm a naturally cold person. I opened my eyes to see a strong, muscular chest in front of me. I blushed hard and looked up to see long black hair and a very handsome face that belonged to professor Snape. He was snoring softly, his strong arms were around me tight as if he were protecting me. I sigh and laid my head on his chest. As I lay there, I begin to wonder how wrong this really is. I mean I'm a first year and he's a professor. My professor of all things. What would my parents think if they found out something like this were to happen? I would most likely be stuck in that horrible basement for a month. Dear Lord Violet stop thinking this way. They'll never find out unless someone tells them, but that's quite impossible. Besides, I'm really not really that young anyways. I'm actually 16. I come from a very abusive family. My father was very physically abusive. My mother, verbally. It never used to be this way actually.
*Flashback to one month ago*
Today is my 16th birthday. I'm home alone like usual. My father is at the pub and my mother is at work. I only have one sibling now. I did have a younger brother but he died at birth. I'm really excited about today. My mother promised me a very nice dinner and a red velvet cake. I heard the front door open to reveal my heavily drunk father, stumbling over his feet. When he saw me his eyes filled with hatred. He walked up to me and wrapped his large hands around my neck cutting off my air. "YOU ARE A WORTHLESS PIECE OF SHIT! I WISH YOU WERE NEVER BORN!" He yelled and slapped me hard across the face. I fell out of my chair and landed on the floor. I got up and ran up the staircase to my bedroom. I quickly locked the door and cried hard. Suddenly I remembered the card that my mother had given to me this morning. I saw it on my desk gleaming in the suns light. I walked over to it and opened it slowly and carefully to make sure I did not tear the parchment. The letter read something about being accepted to Hogwarts the school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. My eyes widened and I jumped up and down like a school girl. I soon started packing a spare trunk I had in my closet. I then when to this place called the Leaky Cauldron. It was a pub that my mother told me to go to. When I got there the owner of the pub I presume looked at me and his eyes widened. "You remind me of someone I once knew. Do you know Astoria Varley?" He asked me. "Yes that's my mother," I said and smiled at him. "Well bless my soul. I should have known, why you're a spitting image of her. You have her eyes and everything," he said as he took my hand and pressed it to his lips lightly. "I supposed you're trying to get to Diagon Alley. Am I right?" "Yes. How did you know?" I asked curiously. "Well everyone in the Varley family is a wizard or witch. Of course you would need to get to Diagon Alley. Yet you seem a bit old to be a first year. Why is that dear?" "Well I never knew I was a witch. No one ever told me. My mother gave my letter to me today actually," I said and nervously laughed. "Well I can take you to get your things and I can show you how to get onto the Hogwarts Express if you'd like," he said and smiled brightly. "Yes I would love that very much. Thank you," I replied and we set off. I had gotten some plain black robes, a cauldron, and a pet python which I had named Venom. The pub owner showed me how to get on to platform 9 3/4 and so I ran through the wall and ended up next to a railroad.
*End of Flashback*
I sighed as I remembered that memory very clearly. I looked up to see if professor Snape was still asleep. Sure enough he was still lightly snoring, his arms seemed to have gotten into a tighter grip around me. I looked at the clock to see what time it was 12:00 p.m. We were going to be late for class. I shook professor Snape roughly until he woke up. "Hmm? Whats the matter?" He said in a very deep and husky voice that was oh so sexy. "Sir look at the clock we're going to be late for class," I said panicked. "Violet please calm down. It's a Saturday," "Oh that's right. Sorry for waking you. Would you like to go back to sleep?" I looked up at him. "No we might as well try to get to the great hall for lunch," I nodded and got out of bed, grabbed some clothes and went to the bathroom to change. I blushed as I could feel professor Snape looking at me. "Um, profes-" I was cut off mid sentence. "Please call me Severus when it's just you and I," I nodded to him and got dressed. When I came out of the bathroom I saw that Severus had already gotten dressed. "Are you ready profes- I mean Severus?" I really need to get used to calling him that. "Yes I am. Shall we?" He held out his hand to me and I blushed hoping that he couldn't see it. I slowly gabbed his hand and our fingers intertwined together. We walked down the many corridors until we reached the great hall's doors. We quickly let our hands go and Severus opened the door for me. I walked in and he followed. "Well I'm very glad you both could join us," Dumbledor said as he chuckled lightly. I blushed and quickly sat down at the Slytherin table. Severus sat next to Dumbledor and began to eat. I wasn't really hungry so I didn't eat much. My brother asked me if I was ok. I simply nodded and stared at my food. Pansy asked the same question and I gave the same response. Just a simple nod. I looked up and saw Severus looking at me in an almost saddened way. I just looked back down at my food and began to blush. Soon lunch was over and everyone filed out of the great hall and to their dorms. I really didn't feel like being cooped up in my dorm all day so I decided that I would go for a walk. I went up to my dorm room and grabbed Venom and set off for the beautiful cliff. It didn't exactly have a name so I just called it the bleeding heart cliff since it was surrounded be bleeding hearts. My favorite flower. I sat down at the edge of the cliff and hung my legs over the side slowly swinging them.
(Severus's POV)
As I was eating breakfast I looked over at Violet. She looked very sad, When she looked up at me I gave her a saddened look but she just looked back down playing with her food. When lunch was over I nearly ran out to find Violet. I went up to her dorm to see if she was there. Nothing. I checked all of the classrooms. Still nothing. Then I thought of that cliff next to the castle. I ran outside to the garden and sure enough there she was. Her beautiful hair flowing in the wind. "Violet are you ok?" I asked gently as I walked up to her. "Um....yes I'm alright," She seemed nervous. Very odd. "Violet is there something you need to tell me?" "Um...uh no s-sir I'm alright," ok she is definitely hiding something. But what?
