Chapter 5: Secrets and Confusion

Violet's POV

I silently stood up from the cliff and began to walk back to the castle with a simple wave goodbye to my potions master. I could tell he was utterly confused by my strange actions but at this point, I honestly could care less. I opened the large gold and wooden doors leading to the castle and walked to my dorm room in complete silence.

When I arrived at my dorm, I plopped down onto the bed and let a single tear escape my eye. Soon that tear became quiet cries, and those cries became loud sobs. In no longer that 10 seconds I was sobbing into my pillow. I felt like I was hit in the chest by at least 1,000 Crucio curses at once. Why did this have to happen to me? I mean I always knew I was different but I just though It was the magic talking. Well, I guess that wasn't the only thing talking.

What am I to do now? I can't tell anyone about my secret. If word got out about it around the school, Pansy would be all over me, Draco would never shut up about it and would probably make jokes about it, and Severus.....well I don't really know how he would react to it exactly. That man can hide his emotions very well. And when I say very well, I mean it. So in that case no one could no my deep secret. The secret that has cause so much trouble yet so much greatness.

I kind of have a feeling that Professor Dumbledor already knew about it. That man knows everything about everyone. It's a little scary now that I think of it. Anyways, I continuously lay there sobbing hard into my pillow. What else is there to do? All I can do is cry and think about what to do next. What is there to do next? I suppose I must cope with this....problem.

All I can say is, I musn't tell anyone that.....I am an animegus.

Severus's POV

What's wrong with her? I've never seen her act like this before. I mean we have only know each other for a couple of days but still. This was very unlike her. I hope she's alright. Oh well maybe she'll be better by tomorrow. Who knows?

With a sigh I walked back into the castle and down to my private chambers. When I arrived, I saw Peeves flying around my room like a maniac, throwing ingredients around like they were nothing.

"Peeves, get out of here NOW!" I screamed at the poltergeist making him jump high in the air and run for his life. I sighed and sat at my desk with my head in my head.

"What have I done this time?" I asked knowing there would be no response. I'm really worried honestly. I hope Violet's ok considering she was acting so strange. Maybe something is going on that I shouldn't be meddling with. Yes that's it. She probably knows what's going on and just doesn't want to tell anyone because she's afraid of how they'll react.

"Oh well, it's been a long night. I might as well go to bed early," I said to myself. I then walked to my bedroom, fell onto my bed, thew the thick, black blankets over me and fell asleep.

Violet's POV

I sighed into my pillow after hours of crying over something that was sacred to my family.....or what's left of it anyway. What I mean by that is I'm the last of the dragon animegi.

My grandfather on my mother's side was a dragon animegus but he was killed by dragon hunters when he was trying to protect me, knowing that I would be the next dragon animegus. The genes skip a generation so I would be the next in line. Well we can talk about all that another time. Maybe I could go for one quick flight around the castle.

I walked out of the dorm room, down the stairs which were constantly moving and out of the large wooden doors. When I got outside I took a shaky breath of the cold night air. I walked over to the Bleeding Hearts cliff slowly and nervously. I thought for a very long time and that was when I began to feel my bones shift and enlarge. It didn't really hurt, it just felt different I suppose. '

The full process doesn't take to long, about a couple minuets or so. When I was in my full form, I was much larger than normal, my skin had become black scales, I had an extremely long tail, a very large wingspan and my teeth were long and sharp.

I took a few couple of steps away from the cliff and with a very swift run and a huge leap I flapped my reptilian wings quickly. Once I had reached a good enough height, I began to swiftly fly over the castle, laughing the entire time. I had thought I heard the castle door opening but I just shrugged it of as Mrs. Norris.

I soon landed back on the ground and retracted all of my extra body parts. When I was back into my human form, I quickly ran through the castle and up to my dorm. I finally collapsed onto my bed, cuddled into the warm blankets and soon fell into a very deep sleep.
