"𝐈 𝐃𝐎𝐍'𝐓 𝐊𝐍𝐎𝐖 about you dickheads, but I'm fucking starving," I grumble and everyone around me groans that I'm a "fat ass" and a "piece of shit" as if those words could ever affect me.

Wait till you meet my father, children.

Sprawled about the apartment are my friends; the ones that have convinced me that life may actually be worth living. Tate and Jonah sit around the table with me while Bean and Zach are on the couch, playing video games as we wait for Daniel to arrive.

Tate assisted me with my unorganized hair options since she was the first person to make an appearance. I'm wearing a red shirt-dress with white and black horizontal lines. White high-top Comme des Garcons Play shoes adorn my feet and when the doorbell rings, I launch myself to the door. I'm a goddamn mess, looking like I rolled out of bed and threw on the first thing I saw: which is kind of what happened. Tate just helped me get some volume in my hair after I showered and put cute white clips in it.

"Daniel," I smile when I open the door and see him in a different shirt and shoes. His blue eyes are far more jubilant than they were this morning. "What happened to your other outfit?"

He shrugs, "Wasn't feeling it. You look nice, though, R."

"Thanks," I grin and let him in, the others cheering at his arrival.

"We've been waiting twenty damn minutes for your ass," Corbyn groans when he throws himself against Daniel into a lazy hug. It doesn't even look like a hug, but that's Corbyn for you.

"Yeah, fuck you, we're starving," Zach chimes in, coming to my side and placing an arm around me. Usually I'd smack him, but the energy between us is different this time. I can't tell why, but I simply let him, snuggling into his side because I desperately need some human warmth.

Fucking Jack. Always running out on me.

I've decided being sad won't help me in any way. I want to spend time with my friends without Jack littering my mind. I have a life besides him, he can't consume me this way.

I wonder what happened last time I tried this, my brain quips.

"So whereto?" Tate pipes up, holding Jonah's hand from beside him. They make it look so damn simple. "Mexican? Chinese?"

"I was thinking burgers," Daniel shrugs, Corbyn still bent sideways and attached weirdly to his waist, carelessly scrolling through his phone with his free hand whilst Daniel mindlessly twirls his fingers around the blonde's mess of hair.

I can't help but smile at the adorableness of how close they've become in these two short weeks. "Ooh, how about The StoneRose? It's like a ten minute drive down Butler or something. A coworker told me it's good," Jonah suggests, rubbing circles on Tate's hand with his thumb. "We could Uber considering none of us have a car."
