Finally, it was the next day and you got up out of bed, quite refreshed, unlike your other nights of sleep. You got ready putting on something slightly presentable but still comfortable. As you were about to leave, your mum interrupted you, clearing her throat and crossing her arms.
"Where are you going?" You turned around, a bit startled by her presence and sighed in relief, realising it was just your mother.
"To a friend's house, mum... don't worry about it." You mumbled, about to leave but she stopped you in your tracks again.
"Is it Jess's house?" She asked, raising an eyebrow and you just lowered your head. Jess was your only friend and you haven't really told her about Alex yet, since you aren't very close with your mother.
"Yeah, of course, it is mum." You replied with a faint smile on your face, fiddling with your thumbs in nervousness.
"Mhm, be back by 9 then, don't go partying, okay?" She looked you up and down before trotting off to do something more interesting with her life, other than interrogating me.

As soon as you arrived at his house, you walked up the front two steps and hesitated to knock for a few seconds. You took a deep breath in, exhaling a little bit longer than the inhale. You finally knocked and you heard the shuffling of feet coming from inside.
"Oh, hey Y/n," Alex smiled, with the door slightly ajar and I couldn't help but smile back.
"So, can I come in or...?" You asked, chuckling a little awkwardly in an attempt to lighten the mood from yesterday. He opened the door just enough for you to squeeze in and shut it behind you.
"I'll show you around," He spoke softly, walking towards a room in the house. I followed him into the room- it was his bedroom, which he also filmed in.
"You like it?" He asked, you glared around the room, taking in every detail before smiling at the boy and simply agreeing. A smile grew on your face as you admired the room once again and threw yourself onto his bed, making yourself at home.
"Wow, you're quite the guest." He laughed for a split second, then let out a sigh as if he has been holding his breath the entire time.
"Yeah, people like are very rare, you know?" I laughed, sitting up as Alex was sitting on the end of the bed.
"So uh, what do you wanna do?" He asked, you began to look upwards, trying to think of something but there was nothing coming to mind. You just shrugged and smiled again, you couldn't help but feel happy around this boy, he got your mind off of Jessica and that's all you needed at the moment.
"What about... a scary movie?" He smirked and I gave him the same look back.
"Of course, I'd love to see you get scared." You mocked, before taking off into the lounge room with him.
"Hmm, what movie?" You asked, looking through his shelves of DVDs and chuckled a little when you spotted a Barbie movie in the right corner of his shelf.
"Hey, move! I'll look for the movie." He said firmly, sounding kind of serious. You began to pout and just sat on the couch while he looked, he was probably joking but Alex tended to be bad at being sarcastic. You knew quite a lot about the boy, despite not knowing him very long because of Jessica's sudden obsession with him.
"How about 'Annabelle Comes Home'? the new ones epic." He asked, pulling the movie out of the shelf. You raised your hand to your chin, as if picky and let out a "Hmm".
"Sure, as long as you get scared." You smiled, mocking the boy again and got comfortable on the couch.
He put the movie in the DVD player and sat next to you, eyeballing you occasionally before asking something.
"Do you want a blanket? it's gonna get cold later." He spoke, you turned your head to the boy and nodded. He reached out to the left of him and grabbed some blankets that were stacked on another shelf.
"Here you are," He passed the blanket to you and you thanked him, putting the blanket over yourself and watching the movie.
