Seven years ago...
Being suffocated in an open space is a prison. After my Mother left me, the old man tried his best to strangle my own life after he abandoned me.
I want freedom, I want air to breath, so I decided runaway in the middle of night. Running away far from the urban world of the North, the plane landed in the city of Mindanao.
Letting the wind crashes on my uncombed hair, I snatch my phone from my jeans and check my location at the moment. Darting my eyes on the unfamiliar road, letting the butterflies flying inside my stomach, I was clutching my own fingers, letting the driver secretly rob my own money as he drove almost the whole city.
As I arrived in the said inn, my eyes were roaming for nothing then my eyes captured her. She was wearing a plain white tank top and combined it with her long black blazer matched with blue jeans and a sneaker. The way her short hair swung just above her shoulder. From afar, I could tell she's 5'6, same age or younger than mine.
"-I would loved to, pero huling inn na to." ang tanging narinig ko sa paglapit ko sa isa pang babae.
"Luke Anderson Martinez." sambit ko sa kanya.
"Room 284, enjoy your stay sir."
"Just please." My eyes switched on her direction.
"Ma'am, we are fully booked. I am sorry, I would love making you stay here but it'll be unprofessional if I'll kick someone else just for you." the lady explained to her. The woman give up as she nodded her head and picked her huge bag from the floor. I figured she's having trouble with her bag but she pushed herself to carry it with her tiny strenght. She decided to rest on the lounge ottoman and start massaging her legs as she blow her few bangs hanging infront of her forehead.
I walk passed her but my eyes caught a glimpse of her words.
"I just want a space to rest." she mutterd and continue massaging her legs. Then I noticed her uncle were swollen and were bleeding.
Helping others. A simple good deeds but seems to be big matter for my Mom's belief. She would rather be empty handed than seeing someone being empty while she was filled. Remembering the way how my Mother raising her brows up and down everytime I choosed to ignore others who are in need. Which made my feet stop from stepping towards my room.
Sa isip ko'y it'll be unmanly for me to let a woman empty handed, I kneel down infront of her and reach her swollen uncle. She was taken aback by my presence, kaya pilit niyang iwaksi ang paa niya papalayo sa akin but I am stronger than her.
"I am not a pervert, if you think I am." I said without looking.
"As if I could tell you weren't." she muttered, that made me look at her eyes.
My reflection were suited on her green tantilizing eyes. Her pointed nose down to her luscious lips, my eyes were struck on her gaze.
"A tourist or a runaway?"I asked. After cleaning her wounds from her ankle while my eyes were looking at the huge bag placed beside her.
"Both." she answered unsurely, thinking if she was or she wasn't and look at me again. That's how I met her.
"THREE days, after three days kung magkikita tayong muli. I'll date you." she said across our table. I was taken aback by her words but her determination were glittering on her eyes.
Matapos ko siyang tulongan sa inn noong nakaraang araw, she found her place which were two blocks from my inn. I help her out, we found ourselves enjoying with each others company, and we already toured around the whole city together in just two days.
