I was in a horrible mood today considering yesterday's sour events. I woke up by a delivery man banging on my door to drop off a black box. I opened it inside and saw a tight green dress with a note attached.
It started off with my name,
"Andrea, here's the dress you will wear tonight. I have arranged for a car to pick you up at eight for the dinner. Don't wear anything underneath. I'll pay extra if you can sleep over. See you tonight."
His handwriting was a bit sloppy and careless, I guess it suited him in that way. I put the shameful fabric down and went to get ready for school. Once again I had to not only physically prepare for class but also emotionally. Who knows what sort of speech Will will throw my way to create chaos in my head today. I just hoped I would be able to dodge him if he tried talking to me.
I wore all black in hopes of drowning myself out of anyone's view, I really didn't need any human contact today.
I got off the bus and as soon as I did, rain started pouring down in buckets. I cursed and stuck my bag under my sweater and ran to campus. By the time I found shelter I was completely soaked. My wet hair slicked to my skin. Before I walked to class I stopped at the bathroom and squeezed the excess water out of my hair and took off my black sweater, leaving me in a grey tank top that managed to stay dry.
I stumbled into class along with other students and sat down. I looked up and saw him focused on his laptop screen as the room filled. He always seemed to look perfect, never a hair out of place, non ironed shirt, or un trimmed facial hair, as if he was in a movie all the time.
He cleared his throat and rubbed his eyes as he stood up.
"Looks like the rain caught some of you." He smiled but he looked tired. His eyes were low and there was a purple tint under them, as if he didn't sleep. His eyes met mine and I instantly looked down at my laptop.
"Right, let's get started." He continued and started teaching.
I hadn't been able to reach the security guard who sold me narcotics, and I was completely dry since my usual supply was in Mr. Langmores trash bag right now. I had started to feel the effects and knew I would need some soon. Without it I was a completely different person, insecure, emotional, depressed, I hated it and wasn't ready to confront that part of myself.
Will was teaching something I had already studied and I really wanted to leave, but decided against it, I didn't want him to think what happened yesterday was going to affect my behavior in class.
"That's all for today, I'm emailing you the homework. Due first thing next week. Have a nice day everyone." He smiled and sat down at his desk yawning. He looked up at me and I felt stuck in place. He looked beaten down and I looked at my shoes and swallowed the lump in my throat at the thought of being the cause.
It was just supposed to be a fuck. It could have been so simple. Why did everything else have to ruin it, now it's uncomfortable and weird.
I packed up my things and decided to talk to him even though I had been planing on avoiding anything that had to do with him. Everyone was gone and I walked down the steps to his desk. He crossed his arms, leaned back into his comfortable chair and looked up at me with an intriguing expression. He took a deep breath and slowly let it out. He looked so beaten down.
"Yes andrea?" He asked and I squeezed my purse strap.
"Are you okay?" I asked him.
"Fine." He replied clearly not fine. He grabbed his packed bag and stood up walking past me towards the door.
"Wait." I whispered grabbing his arm and turning him around.
"Don't lie to me." I begged him shaking my head no. He shook his head looking down at my hand on him.
