I walked home as I ate the most expensive granola bar ever sold. I unlocked the door to my small grey house.

"Mom! I'm home." I yelled as I walked to her room. Her eyes were low as she stared at the blinding light of her television.

"Jesus, it looks like a bat cave in here." I said as I went to open a window.

"Did Maria come and take you for a walk last night?" I asked her and she stared at me.

"Who's Maria?" She asked me and I shook my head.

"Mom I don't have time for this I have work in a couple of hours, I'll make you dinner and I'm gone. Maria will take you out later okay?" I said and she kept looking at the screen.

It seemed everyday she was becoming more and more lifeless. I just prayed to god she would never forget me. Then I would really lose it, but it was inevitable. Her memory would soon leave her completely but I will always take care of her.

"What do you want for lunch ma?" I asked her and she shrugged and said pasta. I nodded and went to the kitchen and boiled pasta. I checked our mail and paid our insurance and bills, leaving me with practically no money again. I rubbed my temples as anxiety clouded my thoughts. I would have to work so much harder which would be hard considering I nearly have sex with all my clients.

After feeding my mom and showering, I took a quick hour nap and kissed my mom goodbye. I waited for the bus at the station and got on. I was the only person under 30 that rode the bus and especially the only one who got off at the strip club.

I dragged myself inside and smelt the tobacco and cheap disinfecting spray. The place was a bit packed for a Tuesday afternoon, I thanked god I wasn't dancing tonight. My boss had requested me for a booking and that always paid better. I walked backstage and said hi to a few girls before entering the small bright lit room stacked with papers. Blue eyes that belonged to my boss looked up from the computer screen. I smiled and leaned against the wall. He was a balding, tall Italian man who was nice to me. His mustache was huge and I always wonder how he went down on his wife with that thing.

"Alexa, right on time as always." He smiled calling me by my fake name and checked his notebook quickly.

"Couple guys booked two girls for ten o'clock, it's downtown I'll give you the address. I know you don't drive, I spoke to Lucy she agreed to take you, you guys should leave in half an hour there might be traffic. Um..." He said checking his laptop again.

"Do you need security to come with you?" He asked and I shook me head.

"No it's fine." I said as I thought about the tip I would have to give him.

"That's it. You're good." He nodded and I thanked him and walked out the door. I looked for Ralph the security guard who always stocked me up on narcotics. I spotted him by the bar and approached the seat next to his, his eyes on the dancers barely noticing me.

"Hey Ralph." I said grabbing the money in my bra.

"The usual?" He asked me and I nodded. He reached into his pocket and exchanged two baggies for the cash and I got up and left to find Lucy.

I saw short bleach blonde hair and walked towards it.

"Hey, let me get ready and we can go." I told her and she nodded and kept staring at her phone. I changed into a tight red and black lingerie set and some black high heels then a coat to go out. I quickly did my makeup dark and applied red lip stick. My light brown hair was straightened and I was finally finished. Lucy asked me if I was ready and we walked out and into her car.

The drive was a bit long and I had never really spoken to Lucy so it was boring.

"Well its a nice neighborhood, I'm sure the tips will be good. I just hope it's not another damn bachelor party." She sighed and I grinned.
