Chapter 2

We were driving in the car listening to music.
Dad was jamming out like a maniac. I couldn't help but to video tape it. He was yelling so loud.
Michael's eyes were so big.
Jo was cracking up.
Michael had to ruin the funny moment knowing that I was recording.
I just don't get it.
He would have never done anything if I wasn't recording.
"Blah. Blahhh. Blahhhhh!"
I quickly stop the recording and turn around.
I turn the music down and stare at him in disgust.
"Really?!" I ask annoyed.
He stares back at me and cringes his nose and sticks out his tongue while biting it.
"Yeah, so stupid."
I knew he was going to make me dislike my morning.
Before I could get out another word we pulled up to my school.
I got out and closed the door.
"Bye love you." I said I gave a small wave and turned around.
I held onto a long breath.
I just stared at him.
He is flawless. I started to drool a little and I think he noticed.
He looked at me and smiled or maybe it is a smirk.
Who knows?
His best friend Nash Grier was staring at me too.
I looked at him funky in my mind but gave a little side smile.
My drool over crush Cameron noticed and nudged his arm.
Nash snapped back into it and looked around.
He is pretty cute but that's probably the main reason everyone loves him.
Player much.
And maybe the fact that he's famous could also be another reason.
About everybody knows that Nash has had a crush on for about 2 years.
But I like Cameron and he knows that.
It's our secret and he's pretty good at keeping it because I don't think Cameron knows.
That or Cameron knows and he's good at hiding it.
I begin to walk towards the school and my best friend Amber Runs up behind me and gives me a tayz on my side.
I wiggle out of it and she smiles, "Hey, what's up?"
"Well right now the sky is but I suspect that your talking about my life so nothing really. Nash drooled again and Cameron noticed and nudged his arm." I began to laugh replaying the scene again.
"Lol again! Wow looks like someone is popular!" She laughs back.
"Shut up! Plus if I'm popular than you are. Duuuhhh. People who are popular have friends that are popular too."
My other friend Ella runs up on the other side of me and locks my arm with hers.
"You just got sconed!" Ella yells.
Sconed is a word that I came up with a while back when someone gets 'burned' as others would probably say.
I gave a little chuckle and reached my hand out to open the door.
I spotted a flyer that said Prom: June 14 at 6:30 pm.
2 weeks from Thursday.
I hope I get asked by him!
I open the door fully, walk inside and look around.
"C'mon Rose!"
"Coming!" I yelled earning looks from a few people.
We finished walking to our table and sat down with the other girls.
"Hiya Guys!" I said enthusiastically.
"Hey Rose..." They all replied in unison.
I laughed to myself and started to join in in all the conversations.
There were so many so I decided to go with the one that my bestest friends were in.
"Omg did you see how in science yesterday the video we had to watch about the friction and stuff and how the guy rubbed the stick... it looked so wrong!"
We all started to laugh.
"LETS GO!"
One of the teachers yelled cuing us that it was time to go into the gym for announcements.
Everyone started to pile into one entry and being the smart one I am I went through the locker room for a quicker access.
Mr. Peters started the announcements.
"Good morning today is Friday January 30, also know as the one hundredth day of school."
Cheers came from all over the gym.
I was a little to lazy so I just clapped with my feet.
He said some other things like, the prom, upcoming games and other stuff.
"Congrats to our basketball girls for winning last night and Rose for scoring us 13 points last night putting us in the lead with a 23-18 win!"
Everyone cheered and my friends patted me on the back, I just gave a small smile in return.
Amber nudges my arm and I turn to her to say thanks.
"No not that..."
She flings her head to my left to show someone looking at me.
We always sit pretty close to the boys meaning Cameron, Nash, Jack, and Matt, also a few others.
It was Nash looking at me and he mouthed good job and I said thanks.
After announcements we went to our classes. Once those were over we had lunch.
Normally Nash and others sit with us but today we had a full table so it was just Nash and Cam.
I got a salad for today. We sat down and talked about nothing in particular.
We have this thing where we find ways to flip each other off without getting caught.
Cameron made a joke about me and Nash so I put my hand to my face while flipping him off.
Some people who have glasses are lucky all they have to do is pretend their glasses are falling down and do it then.
The bell rang and we went to P.E..
It was just Nash and I in the same P.E. class so we went to our locker rooms and got ready then came out and grabbed our skates.
For the next few weeks we are skating in P.E..
We hurried up and finished then started to skate.
Nash stayed by me for most of the part, that is until we played six corners and he went and got the dice to roll it then came by me. They announced the winner and we skated a little longer. Nash caught up to me after our race and was acting all serious.
Everyone stopped skating and the lights went a little more dim than before.
Nash turned around on his skates and grabbed my hands. he began to skate backwards pulling me along.
He started to sing the song A drop on the ocean by Ron Pope.
It was one of my favorite songs and he knew that.
He finished off the song and began to talk.
"Rose I really like you, I'm sure you know because the whole world does. As you know prom is in about two weeks and I don't have anyone to go with..."
"*cough, cough* Loser" someone says I ignore them and turn back to Nash.
All of a sudden I get butterflies in my stomach.
" I was wondering if you would like to go with me as a couple?"
"Nash watch out behind you!"
It was too late he had tripped and fallen on the floor and since we were holding hands I had filled on top of him.
"Ha, ha, ha, ha, haw!"
I couldn't stop laughing.
"Aahhh will you still go with me...please say yes I don't wanna look like a fool."
"Ha, ha, yas, ha, ha, I will, ha, ha!"
Everyone cheered and that's when it clicked that we were still in school and I was on top of him.
We got back up and held hands skating till it was the end.
"Are you coming to my game tonight?" I asked him.
"Yeah why wouldn't I?"
I shrugged my shoulders and put my skates away.
The rest of the day were normal except Nash was by my side.
After school I went and got changed into my practice clothes.
We practice before every game.
The bleachers were out so my group and Nash's group were already there watching me.
Maddy a girl in my group is on the team with me.
We started with layups and after that coach had the first five or starters and the two subs and made us do the plays for tonight's game.
We finished practice and ran out on the court for our game, the crowds cheered and stood up.
I waved to my parents and to Nash.
They smiled at me and I began to do our pre-game warmups.
Coach called me and another girl on my team over to meet some guys.
We shook their hands and told them our name and numbers on our jerseys. They told us we were good to go and we finished warmups.

~~~After the game~~~

"Hey let's get a picture." Nash said.
"Sure" I replied.
I handed my water bottle to my mom and dad and went by Nash. He had Cam hold the phone while everyone else waited behind him.
We first did a smily one that turned out really cute.
Then he said let's do a silly one so I agreed.
He kissed my cheek while I had a hand over my mouth.
We finished and I yelled, "Group picture for everyone."
We all got on someone's back of corse I got on Nash's.
Later that night Nash put on every social media: I love my girl and no one will ever take her from me.@mintonj02 I love you baby!!!👫💏😘
I fell asleep wondering if what Nash said was really true.
If so I think Nash Greir is the boy of my dream...
