The trail ride was a success. At least Alex thought so, even with the news Linda gave them. They rode over the forgotten fields to the old whispering willow, and had lunch, and fun. At noon they decided to ride back to the stables. Alex had to leave to see the druids, and Anne had a dinner to get ready for tonight. So, it was only Lisa and Linda together.

I have a question for you." Lisa stated.

Linda looked over questioningly, but like she already knew what Lisa was gonna say.

"I know that the college you want is Oxford, what happens when you leave? The soul riders aren't three girls they are four, a sisterhood. Linda, are you gonna still leave, even with that new information you gave us today." Lisa looked sad.

Linda sighed, "I know what I said could have sounded harsh, but I don't sense immediate danger. But I also don't want to put everything on hold for soul riding. Lisa, your lucky, you found your passion here on Jorvik, your a well known musician on the Island. But Oxford has been my dream, ever since my parents left to teach there. I don't want to have any regrets."

"But what about Meteor, how could you leave him!" Lisa sounded angry now, Linda didn't know what it would be like telling Alex this, she didn't want to get electrocuted.

"Well, I thought, maybe Meteor could come with me. I couldn't leave him behind. It would to painful for me and him." Linda looked sorry.

"So, it seems like you have it all planned out. I guess you really are leaving us." Lisa sounded exasperated. She gave one last glance at Linda and walked out. She didn't want to walk out on Starshine but she couldn't stay in the same room as Linda anymore.

Linda turned away as Lisa walked out, and started petting Meteor. She heard footsteps entering, but to her surprise it wasn't Lisa coming back, it was a new girl. She had long brown hair and tan skin, with hazelnut eyes. She walked into the stable curiously.

"Uhh, hi. I'm looking for Hershel?" she said.

"You mean Herman, right?" Linda asked.

"Oh yeah right, sorry, I'm new here. Jorvik is a whole new experience, I've never been anywhere like it." The girl said. "Oh, my names Nicole, I was born on Jorvik but my parents left right after. I always wanted to come here, and asked them questions about it, but I realise how much they left out. I love it here." Nicole said.

"Yeah, me too. Do you ride?" Linda asked, she felt like she knew this girl, somehow, almost like how she knew Lisa before she came to Jorvik.

"I actually don't, but coming to Jorvik not knowing how to ride, I feel like an outsider. It seems everyone here gets around by horses." Nicole laughed. "So I'm gonna be taking beginner lessons." She stepped closer towards Meteor and Linda, "Is this your horse? He is very pretty," Nicole said. Linda nodded. "The horses on Jorvik, there's something different about them, I was a city girl when I was young and I have barely ever been on a farm. So, I guess I wouldn't be the one to know." Meteor nickered when Nicole started petting him.

"Your right, Jorvik has unique horses and people, but the most unique thing is the bonds they create together." Linda told her.

"Well, I better get going, don't want to be late for my first lesson." Nicole smiled and walked away. Today was a good day Linda thought, hopefully things will stay the same. Even though Lisa got mad at her, she knew things would get better between them. As for Oxford she wasn't completely sure what she was gonna do yet. She felt that if she was needed, she would come back in an instant, but she also felt how dreary the rest of the world was compared to Jorvik. And if she moved from the island who knows if she would still have the bonds she did with her fellow soul riders. She wished she could tell them about what she was feeling, and feel comfortable doing so. She wished they could understand. She knew Anne would leave for dressage competitions, everyone knew that. So why did it matter if Linda left. Maybe the sisterhood isn't as close as she thought, the ride was nice today. But she felt everyone was closed off, as if caught up in there own lives or worries.
