A dear friend that clearly beat the odds to swim with the sharks. Brian came from a neighborhood in Livingstone called Dambwa North in the beautiful African country, Zambia.
We went to the same high school in Lusaka. Well, Brian was nothing but positive energy. I think relationships are accompanied by how people make you feel and honestly he made me believe in what I was capable of doing. He stood by me. Brian showed me that opportunity is very important. How we deal with opportunity can define our success.
My team encouraged peace. I had an honor to work with Brian to insure peace flourished on campus. He played a huge role in making sure juniors understood discipline and the rewards of growing up into responsible citizens.
That is why I think at this moment during a time of world distress [RIP to George Floyd] there is no better way to celebrate a life that encouraged peace. Even with all the violence in the news, there are stories of peace, hope and love.
