Don Toliver - No Idea.
                                  •••••••

We're cruising down Independence Avenue at 160 km/h. Windows up. Seat belt buckled. I'm good.

We're on our way to the party. I'm on the wheel and that's a good decision. Drew asked me to drive firstly because we're so late! Secondly, am addicted to speed thrills. Nothing beats Friday night sunsets in a well serviced engine. Just allowing the pipes to be ignited with fuels and oils. In the very same way just like the pipes, being each others framework for love, compassion and respect to flow among us was one thing I was absolutely grateful for.

"You're not thinking about John Maxwell and all of that motivational jack are you?" Drew kisses his teeth at the thought.

"Bro just play my song." How can this guy read my mind? I think to myself.

"Nasty Girl/ On Camera?" Drew asks.

"Yeah Gunna."

"John Maxwell is out here motivating trappers!"

"We're taking over bro. Y'all been sleeping on us too much."

*phone chimes*

"Ummmhh can I call you back?" I ask politely.

" Becky is here. I don't know what to do."

"Stay with Cam am almost there."

My heartbeat is 10 times faster now. Becky is finally here.

"Becky is making you nuts huh?"

"Bruv you don't see that bunda everyday."

Drew laughs hard.
I was right and he was too. Becky was making me go super crazy!

We met at a party two weeks ago. It was hosted at the Lusaka Protea Tower. VIP only. You can bet she was on that list all because of pretty privilege.
In our gang, if you didn't drive, your fashion had to be exclusive and original. She fell in love with my Jordans. No hello. No eye contact.
Plain,
"Your Jordans are amazing!" Becky said in awe of my Jordan Ones.
Just like that, mans was lost.

"So she really complimented my birthday gift?" Drew boasts.

"Yeah she really liked my Jordans. My Jordans."

"She was invited"

"Lydia called actually. She's there right now."

"All the best chief."

1:00AM at the party

Oh did you know I was a rapper? Well I guess you're as lost as everyone in the crowd. It's my first show ever. I'm the headline show and there's a few minutes till am on set.
I'm texting on my phone when I see a very familiar curly haired girl walk in to the VIP lounge.

"No Jordans today? " Becky asks

"Old school cocaine white Air Force today" I reply.
"Please take a seat."

"Thanks Andy. "

"I came to wish you luck. I'm quite impressed with everything you guys have put together. This party is really amazing."

"Then you won't be ready for the after party"

"What an after party? Today is mad!"

"Are you coming?"

"I don't have the location"

"I'll take you there. "

"An official first date?" She blushes.

"An official first date."

"Okay. See you after the show."

"Later Becky."

My mind is racing! I just got my crush to come with me to the apartment. I was in a movie.

Lydia walks in right after.

"Come on you're next"

I have 2.K plays on SoundCloud and I know half of those people are from my city. I have to kill this performance. Well, am so glad I had big artists like Apostle, Matao and OG Ris to open the show for me so the crowd is definitely hyped right now.
Five of my most listened to tracks are lined up.
The lighting goes off as I make my way to the stage. Suddenly, the lights are back on and am staring at a crowd that's screaming my name with their flashlights on.
The energy is crazy!

*pheww
"I'm a rapper" I whisper to myself.

"420 Summer show are you ready?"

SHOW KILLED!!!! I knew it was a wrap when His Worship the Mayor of the city came back stage to take a picture.
I floated on the crowd, took my shirt off and I even invited a random fan on stage. It was amazing. Just like the stars on YouTube.
I couldn't stop thinking about how one song could have so much impact on a large group of people. I was totally mezmorized.

You see music is not just sound. It's a vibe. Humans and dogs seem to be very good at sensing energy. Energy determines your relationships. Having a wave of positive energy on repeat all day could change a human heart. It changed mine.

At first I wanted to record for fame but then I fell in love with the business. Ever since my first investment in digital distribution on my second single the response has been massive. I'm on my 7th now with a little EP on the way. I'm getting in the game.

4:00AM

"Pop the Ciroc!" Drunk Drew yells.

"Whoooo!" The whole room yells.

There's girls everywhere and I can only spot five dudes.

"5 second challenge who's down?" Drew asks.

"Let's go am down!" Becky confidently answers and walks towards Drew.

"Five, four..." The condown begins with a bottle of Ciroc on her mouth.

"... ONE"

"Yeeeaahhh!" Everyone yells.

We are beyond wasted as we toast to our success. I better get to Becky before the alcohols makes her trip.

"Heyy Becky"

"Andy! I'm having so much fun. I've been going to the wrong parties all year long. You guys are awesome!"

"I knew you would like it here. Do you want to roll one with me?" I ask.

"Sure let's get to the balcony."

Becky leads the way to the room upstairs. Lucky enough Extravaganza keeps me supplied with the best pre rolls in town so we skip straight to the lighter.

"So besides being gorgeous, what are you focused on right now?"

"I've got a cooking show. Every Thursday on ZNBC"

"A cooking show?"

"That's right sir"

I pass the joint to her.

"Cameras don't make you shy?" I ask

"At first they did. I live for content now."
