Cooking at work prepping for the day, sees Dwayne come in, "Hey how's your morning going?"
Dwayne chuckles, "Have you ever tried explaining to a 16 year old about the birds and the bees? He ended up calling Rubys grandma and calling us idiots."
I chuckle loud, "I had to go through the same thing with Cesar except at 14, except in my case he went to Geny."
Dwayne nods, "How's your family?"
I finish the prepping and cover everything, "The girls are growing, Logan started kindergarten and Esmy has just learned to run and enjoying it."
He looks at me with serious look, "That's great but I see tension in your arms, Whats going on son?"
I sigh and look around, "Lauren has a appointment tomorrow about these migraines she is getting. We are worried that her epilepsy signs are coming back. Its been 2 months since she had her last one."
Dwayne sighs and pats his shoulder, "You know if you need time off let us know, even if you need some half days."
I look at him and shakes head, "Dwayne I can't take advantage of you and I can't afford to be off work. Laurens boss has been nice and has her working from home until she is seizure free for 6 months."
Looks at roof, "I am starting to worry that any day she won't wake up."
Dwayne looks at him and sighs and looks at your employee record on computer, "You have 320 hours of Paid Time off, that is enough for 8 weeks. I want you to use them in anyway you want until she is better. You can come in and help us prep or at the end of the night, anything you want."
I nod and puts head on bed looks at Dwayne, "I worry that she will die at a young age like my best friend. What will happen to my children? How will I survive it?"
Dwayne looks over at me, "You will get through it because you all have family, and Lauren is one tough cookie who loves her family. Lauren is not Tony, Oscar. Tony's death was a horrible incident and he never woke up. Lauren had a seizure during labor and recovered, your wife is a fighter."
Lauren at door with his lunch and rubs Oscar shoulders, "I love you handsome and we will figure out these damn seizures."
Dwayne looks at us and gives us serious look, "You two are fighters and you have fought to get here today. Angie and I always a call away, and don't forget to let us babysit when needed."
