and, sorry I couldn't make the child 2 years old in this one. I'm not sure if kids can talk at 2 yet?? But uhm if they can then you can imagine him to be 2, I didn't mention the age. [Oh and I used Inojin as the kid because he's Sai's kid in Boruto. Hope that's alright :)]

My eyes fluttered open, only to close again as they were blinded by the sunlight seeping through the closed curtains. I rolled onto my back, staring at the ceiling as I rubbed away the sleep in my eyes.

"Good morning,"

A low, raspy voice said from beside me. A smile found its way onto my lips. I turned my head to the side again, eyes meeting a pair of familiar dark ones. "Good morning to you too, Sai," I spoke while smiling uncontrollably. All this felt like a dream, to be able to wake up next to the person I loved so much every day was an amazing feeling, and knowing that he was mine and that we had started a family together almost made my heart explode with bliss.

"Mom! Dad! It's Christmas!"

A bright, cheery voice snapped me out of my daze. My little bundle of joy, Inojin,  jumped onto the bed, wiggling himself between me and Sai. A chuckle slipped past my lips.

"Mm, do you want to open your presents?" I grinned, still slightly sleepy. "Of course!" Inojin replied, excitedly jumping off the bed and dashing out of the room. I sighed, half-heartedly getting up from the comfort of my bed and getting ready for the day.

As I stood at the closet grabbing some clothes to change into, a pair of arms wrapped around my waist and a warm body pressed against my back. "I'm sleepy, it's still so early..." Sai groaned groggily, snuggling his head into the crook of my neck. I smiled softly. "I'm tired too, but what can I do?" I chuckled, turning around and ruffling his dark hair. "Alright, let's hurry and get ready," I reminded, earning a tired groan of protest from Sai.

When the both of us were finally done, we walked into the living room to see Inojin, sitting on the floor with bits of torn wrapping paper around him, his eyes sparkling with joy as he held out a drawing kit that we had bought him as his Christmas gift. "Ah, so you've already seen it. Do you like it?" Sai asked, sitting down beside the ecstatic kid.

"Of course I do!" Inojin beamed, his eyes twinkling. A smile crossed my lips as a warm and fuzzy feeling ignited in my chest. "I'm glad you like it, Inojin, but it's time for breakfast now," I chuckled, ruffling the boy's hair. "Okay, what's for breakfast?" He chirped, skipping to the kitchen. "Pancakes," I answered, knowing that it was Inojin's favourite food.

Inojin's eyes shut in a closed-eyed smile. "Yay! Thank you, mom!" he grinned. "You're a lot like your dad, you know," I thought aloud, chortling to myself. "Oh?" Sai laughed softly.

I turned around and began to pour the pancake mix into the pan. Soon, the pancakes were done. I placed them on a plate and gave them to Inojin, and he immediately took a big bite. "You're amazing at cooking, mum!" He beamed, greedily shoving the food into his mouth. A giggle slipped past my lips as I grinned. "Thank you!" I chuckled, earning a wide grin from the boy.

Before we knew it, the day had begun to end. I could see the sun inching towards the horizon and painting the sky a bright orange that faded into a red from the kitchen window.

"Sai! Inojin! Dinner's ready!" I bellowed from the kitchen, and the two sat down at the dining table shortly after. I put down the plates in front of them, and we all started eating.

"Let's do something fun after dinner!" Inojin suggested, grinning from ear to ear. "And what is that?" Sai asked, taking a bite from his food. "Hm..." Inojin pondered out loud, "let's watch television and sleep late today!" "Alright fine, but finish your food first," I laughed softly.

And so after dinner, we were all sat on the couch, going on a movie marathon. I had my head on Sai's shoulder and Inojin's on my lap. Our eyes were all glued to the television and without us realising, it was already about eleven at night.

Inojin had already fallen asleep on my lap. I smiled softly to myself as I gazed at his sleeping face. He looked so peaceful, his eyes shut and his mouth slightly agape. I reached out and gently brushed away the strands of hair that fell onto his face, my heart bigger than ever. Everything just felt so surreal. I could hardly believe that this was reality. I started a family with the person that meant the world to me, and gave birth to a child that I loved just as much. How peaceful everything was felt amazing, especially since it was only a few years after the fourth great shinobi war. Just thinking about all this brought an indescribable type of bliss to me, a kind that almost made me dizzy and light-headed.

"You know, Y/N, I love you, quite a lot," Sai's low, slightly raspy voice said from beside me. I turned over to look at him, seeing a light pink blush dusting over his pale cheeks. I subconsciously cracked a smile. "I love you too. A lot. I still can't believe this. You know, having a family with you and everything. God, I'm happy. So, so happy," I ranted, feeling my heart throb.

Just then, I got one of those rare, genuine smiles from Sai. Seeing this was enough to make my knees weak and release a bunch of butterflies into my stomach. I wanted to capture that image with my mind, and keep it there forever, like a photograph. I smiled as well, leaning forward and pressing a quick kiss onto his lips.

I felt like I could last forever in this moment, in the comfortable arms of Sai and in the company of the two people that I loved more than anything in the world.
