A trio of chickens pecked and scratched about in the cool shade of a forest. Tall grass and the occasional flower bloomed, while a soft breeze stirred the leaves of the oak and birch trees. Above, the sky was painted a pastel pink which faded into soft oranges and reds from the sun peering over mountains in the distance. A perfect sunset.

Then there was a scream and the chickens squawked in surprise. They took off, wings flapping uselessly, as a spout of water spawned above them,  cascading down and washing away a few blocks of tall grass. When it seeped away, only a few seeds and a man in olive robes with long, greasy black hair were left.

Ivor sat up and removed the glass bowl from his head, coughing. He got up and tucked the bowl in his inventory, looking around. It seemed like, apart from the chickens that had just scarpered, he was alone.

Until he heard a sharp zipping noise and several shouts behind him. Ivor turned around to see Jesse, Lukas and Petra lying sprawled on their backs on the ground. Hastily, they picked themselves up.

"So good of you to join me," Ivor commented, folding his arms as they brushed themselves off. "I was beginning to think that I might end up completely alone here."

"Hey, come on, 'No man left behind', remember?" Jesse pointed out. "We're all in this together; and that includes you, Ivor."

"Whether we like it or not," Petra added with a grin.

Ivor gave them a grateful look. "Friends will be friends, I guess."

"And be there to no ends," Jesse added, grinning.

"Although that kinda depends," said Petra.

"Hey guys," said Lukas suddenly, "We're in a forest!"

Jesse, Petra and Ivor glanced at eachother, then back at Lukas, who was beaming.

"Way to ruin our rhyme, Lukas," Jesse sighed.

"And," Petra added slowly, "I'm pretty sure that's what a bunch of trees is called Lukas."

"No, I mean a normal forest," Lukas corrected. "An ordinary, plain, not-so-exciting forest. Do you think... we could be home?"

"Don't get your hopes up just yet," Jesse told him. "It might look like our world, but there's nothing to say yet that it definitely is. C'mon, the sun's setting, and I have a feeling that no matter what world we're in, we don't wanna get caught out in the dark."

"Here here," said Ivor.

"Are we building a dirt hut, like last time?" Lukas asked, peering up at the sun, which seemed to have sunk much lower since they first arrived.

"Why not?" Jesse shrugged. "We're not going anywhere while it's night, and we don't need anything fancy. Let's start digging."

The others nodded and began to spread out, digging shallow pits and gathering as much dirt as they could. Jesse watched for a moment, then set to work digging their own, about two blocks down. Halfway through, Jesse heard a cluck and looked up.

One of the chickens from before had come back, and it was standing on the edge of Jesse's pit, looking down at them.

Jesse raised their eyebrow. "Hey there pal, what's u-?" Their eyes caught on something around the chicken's neck and they frowned. It was a little yellow collar, with a name-tag clearly visible dangling in front of it's chest. They walked over and squinted up at it, trying to make out the words on the nametag.

"AHH!" Both Jesse and the chicken jumped. It was Petra.

"Petra? What's wrong?" Hastily, Jesse dug a small stairway and jumped up beside the chicken, who flared it's wings and squawked indignantly. Jesse drew their sword and whirled around; Lukas, Petra and Ivor had scrambled out of their pits, and were now faced with a hoarde of zombies. Above, stars winked from an indigo sky, and a half moon was beginning to rear from behind the mountains.
