Vivian
“Let him in,” I said while working on my laptop. I didn’t give a fuck why he came here, but this time if he would try to fuck-up with me then I would not think twice to shoot right in his chest.
I raised my eyes from the laptop when the door opened and a tall man stepped in. He was completely recovered except for the mark of my knife on his neck.
I touched my gun. “Are you fond of death?” I narrowed my eyes at him.
Lucian raised both of his hands above his head. “I am unarmed.”
“I am not blind. But it won’t stop me to shoot right in your chest!”
He smiled, that seemed genuine. “You can shoot me but only after my words to you. I want your help.”
I laughed. “As if I will ever help you.”
“Believe me, this is more important than anything else.” He said with confidence.
I leaned back in my seat, waiting for him to spell out his important thing. “Spill it out. What’s so important?”
“Tomorrow, Kia is going to marry Guarin.” He watched my reaction, but as usual, he found nothing.
“So?” I kept my expression fixed. “I don’t give a fuck whoever she marries? And if you came here to talk about this, then I am not interested in listening to these bullshits.”
“I know you care about her.” He held my gaze for a moment.
I glared at him threateningly. “You do? I wondered how much you know about me?” I stood up and slid my hand into the pockets. “Do you know how I torture my traitors? Do you know how I kill a man like you with my bare hands? Of course, you do?”
He swallowed under my icy gaze. “Get the fuck out of here before I change my mind, Lucian. Kia meant nothing to me. I forgot that she ever existed in my damn life. Let her marry another fucking man. I don’t fucking care!” I ran my fingers through my hair because of frustration.
He didn’t move from his place and kept sticking at the same spot bravely. And I respected him for this. Because he was proving himself to be a loyal friend. I quickly pulled out my gun and got ready to pull the trigger at any moment.
“Kia is pregnant with you.” The words left out his mouth, and the gun slipped from my grip and collapsed against the floor. “She is pregnant with your child, Vivian.”
For a moment, I froze and kept staring at him.
But when the pregnant word hit my brain, I laughed out loud as if I heard some sort of joke. I didn’t know why, but I couldn’t help but laugh. “You betrayer and your Kia betrayer. What makes you think I can believe you with my closed eyes? How do I believe someone who lied to me from the very beginning? How?”
“Because it is true, Vivian. It is true!” He pulled out the piece of paper and handed me over. “Look.”
I read every word carefully. It was her pregnancy report and fuck; she was six weeks pregnant. And I knew he was not lying to me. I could say through his worried expression. I could read the people well from in and out.
“And she sent you here for my help?!” I snapped, clenching my jaw tighter.
He shook her head. “She will never ask for anyone’s help, not even after her dead body. I would not have known about her pregnancy if her mother had not told me. It was her mother who has told me everything. Even Mrs. Seton forced her to get rid of it.”
My nostril flared. “What!”
“But Kiara refused to do this even after knowing that this child will bring nothing but her death. Guarin will kill her when he comes to know about her pregnancy.” He stared into my eyes. “Kiara does not want anyone to know about her pregnancy, but her mother told me because she is scared of her life.” He smiled sadly. “She thinks she is stronger and she will handle everything on her own. I know she won’t. She needs you, Vivian.”
