late nights [tododeku]

midoryia entered his house to see his mother sitting on the couch, "I am home!" the teen yelled as she turned around and got up, smiling fondly. "izuku, how was school?" midoryia removed his shoes and left them by the door neatly as he replied, smiling at his mother. "It was great!" midoryia said and his mother came over to him and took his wrist, grabbing it and dragging him into the kitchen so he could help her make dinner.  whining about getting his uniform dirty so he ran to go change into black shorts with a tshirt that said 'shirt' on it before running back into the kitchen with his mom.

after spending about an two hours preparing dinner, the two ate. small conversation between them as they munched. something itched at midoryia, he checked his phone to see it was 6:57 PM and he still haven't gotten a text from todoroki. after finishing his food, he smiled at his mother and helped her clean up. after 40 minutes, he had finished cleaning the dishes and picked up the living room and still no text from his best friend. they always texted after school, why wasn't todoroki texting?

midoryia picked up his phone at nine o'clock , pressing on the taller male's contact to text him, adjusting himself on the couch as he started to type out a message but stopped when he heard a knock on his door . "Izuku? are you excepting anyone?" his mother asked from the kitchen as she made herself some tea.
midoryia thought for a moment before shaking his head, "no, I'll answer!" midoryia said as he got up from the couch, sliding his phone into his pocket.

taking small steps to the door and slowly opening it, confusion exploding over his face as he saw todoroki. the taller male had his hair covering his mismatched eyes as he gripped onto the black sweat pants he was wearing. "todoroki? why are you here?"
Lifting his gaze from the ground, midoryia felt his stomach drop. he had a hand mark on the right side of his face, eyes red and clenching his jaw as he spoke, "i.."

midoryia didn't let him speak or explain, he softly took the taller male's wrist and pulled him inside, closing the door behind todoroki as he let out of his wrist, "it's freezing out there.." he mumbled as his mom called out, "izuku? was someone there?" she asked as she walked out of the kitchen.  "It's todoroki!" midoryia said with a smile and his mother smiled fondly, waving at todoroki before heading back into the kitchen.

"can I stay here for a few hours?" todoroki asked as izuku lead him into the hallway, opening the door to his all might themed room, "of course.."

Todoroki walked into the room, midoryia closing the door behind him and he inhaled, it unsurprisingly smelled like midoryia.
"can I ask why?" midoryia asked as he headed to the light switch, turning it off. the only light in the room being the glow from outside his window of the lights surrounding the building. todoroki bit his lip but nodded.

midoryia took his hand and pulled him to sit on his bed, his bed was pushed against the wall with the window not far from it. todoroki took off his shoes and set them on the floor and sat on the bed, criss cross. midoryia copied his style of sitting and sat across from him on the bed, todoroki setting his gaze on the white pillows behind his best friend, staring down at the white comforter after. "me and father had a fight.. I just.." todoroki looked at midoryia and bit his tongue, "I said some things that upset him and we both need space from each other.."
todoroki said, simply.

midoryia sat closer, staring at todoroki's cheek that had the red hand print, he sighed, nodding as he smiled. "okay.. if you want to stay over.. I'll ask my mom.. she never says no so don't worry." Midoryia said before they turned their attention to the door that opened and revealed midoryia's mother. "i am heading to bed, boys. if todoroki is sleeping over, don't let him sleep on the floor, izuku." she said as she glared at izuku, wanting him to treat guest correctly.
todoroki chuckled softly and midoryia nodded and spoke, "ok, ok. good night!"

after his mother left and shut the door behind herself, todoroki looked at midoryia and spoke, "I don't want to take your bed, I'll sleep on the f-" midoryia cut him off, "we'll sleep together! it's now a sleepover." midoryia said with a small smile as todoroki couldn't help but nod, suddenly not minding the idea of sharing a bed with someone.
