late nights [tododeku]

todoroki had gotten up from the bed as the shorter boy fluffed up the blankets so it was extra comfy. todoroki watched his best friend as he looked around the room, noting all the posters and action figures. it was cute. he thought it was cute how midoryia looked up to all might so much. being dragged out of his thoughts about the room as midoryia spoke,

"you want to be sleeping on the edge or against the wall?" midoryia's voice was soft as todoroki turned his attention to him and glanced out the window to see it had started raining..

"I'll sleep against the wall." todoroki sat back down onto the bed as midoryia nodded and smiled.

todoroki was so comfortable to be around.
midoryia really liked todoroki. as a friend of course. admired how hard working and smart he was. todoroki was a wonderful friend. he shared and was always so kind and funny.

the two boys sat across from each other again, making jokes and talking about class and their friends. at one point, midoryia started to sing a little song, todoroki laughing at his voice crack and midoryia giggled as he heard todoroki's laugh, turning around and laying back so he could rest his head in todoroki's lap. "shhh, I am a beautiful singer." todoroki only rolled his eyes and looked down at the small boy in his lap.

soon it grew quiet and the taller boy started to thread his fingers through his best friend's curls. Midoryia leaning into the touch as he asked, softly. "todoroki. do you like anyone?" todoroki tilted his head and asked back. "like romantically? no.." todoroki confessed, truthfully. it was odd, todoroki had never had a crush on a girl or anyone. he shrugged and asked, "do you like anyone, midoryia? you and uraraka are very close. do you like her?"

midoryia stayed silent for a moment, shaking his head as he sat up, turning around so they were facing eachother as he mumbled, "I would never like uraraka, she's just a good friend." midoryia smiled, shaking his head again, "hmm, how about asui? she's nice." midoryia shook his head again, "I-.. i don't even like girls, todoroki.."
midoryia admitted, looking down at his hands.

"oh.." was all todoroki said as stared at midoryia. "have you ever kissed a boy?" todoroki asked as he stared at his best friend who looked up at him. todoroki smiled at him, midoryia calmed at the sight of the sweet smile. "I- todo!" the shorter boy whisper shouted and grabbed a pillow to hit the other boy with it.

todoroki let out a soft laugh and took the pillow from his grasp. "have you~?" midoryia's face turned red as he looked away and mumbled, "I-I haven't.."
todoroki smiled, nodding as he spoke, "I haven't kissed anyone either." the taller boy said so the short boy wouldn't feel bad.

that was a relief to midoryia. midoryia had small crush on his straight best friend or seemingly straight best friend. he wouldn't want a girl to steal his first kiss or anyone for that matter! midoryia smiled and bit his lip, "oh the turn tables." Midoryia mumbled and todoroki rolled his eyes.

it grew slient again and midoryia had started to stare off into space. todoroki stared at him, subconsciously examining his freckles and pale skin, his fluffy curly hair and his pink lips. has midoryia always been this cute? midoryia soon snapped out of his daze and looked at todoroki who stopped staring.

"Let's get to bed, todoroki. it's getting late." it was only 11 PM but to midoryia, it was very late so todoroki chuckled and got up to get into bed with him by the pillows, getting by the wall and laying down. midoryia doing the same and pulled the blanket over them both. soon, the lights that came from outside turned off, leaving it dark in midoryia's room but not too dark to where they could see each other.

they turned so they were facing each other, their legs brushing softly against each other's and as they faced each other. their faces only a few inches away, midoryia asked,

"todoroki..?"

"yes, midoryia?"

"Are you straight?"

the question struck todoroki.
he didn't know, he's never liked anyone before, at least he didn't think so.

"what does it feel like to like someone?"
todoroki asked.

midoryia explained,
"Well, when you're around them. your heart beats faster and you get butterflies. you'll be happier and everyone is amazing when they're around.."

fuck.
todoroki stared at his best friend's lips as he spoke. todoroki had liked a few people before than. all innocent crushes from elementary school. all boys.

"I think.. I think I like boys, midoryia.."
