Chapter 8: I AM AN OUTCAST!

Chris’s POV

“Chris, You need to understand that her safety means a lot to us. Those demons won’t stop until they have her in captive.”
“Arianne I cannot let her be here, I have to take her some place safe.”
“You cant take away her high school, friends, her family! That basically means you are telling her to live like us, more like forcing her! And taking away her life! Don’t do it.”
“You don’t tell me what to do!” I snapped in anger. I saw her shocked face and I said again in a calm voice.
“Look, I cannot let anything happen to her. That’s all I know.”
“You attract those demons Chris, we all know that. We need to hide her not gather a  supernatural feast here. And the only way to do that is if we have a humanoid by her side.” She placed her hand on my shoulder. No matter what I say but the fact is that I will draw unwanted attention.
“How will you do that?”
“Just like you, Dumb Prick. I will get the admission in this stupid school and keep a watch on her. In fact I might even become friends with her. I am a Humanoid Chris. They won’t be able to track me. I will be a great cover for her. And to erase her scent from the air we will make her wear Lavender bracelet. She’ll be protected Chris.”
“But if the shadow people shall return, what will we do then?”
“Even if they return, they won’t be able to harm her. Because even if they are permitted to do anything to bring her back to death, but they cannot expose their ownselves.”
“Did you find the source of the origin of that shadow?”
“The witches are trying to track it, but are failing.”
“Of course they are! The so called ‘GODS’ are helping them. How can the Gods, want to harm the innocent so desperately? They call themselves as the guardian of justice, yet they wish to take the life of this innocent girl.”
“Chris! The prophecy… that’s all they are scared of! If it’s true, the this girl is going to cause trouble. And perhaps, that will be the end of both the worlds.”
“You believe the prophecy too? We all know that it could be manipulated! And if you believe the prophecy then why are you supporting an outcast like me?”
“Because, I believe you more than that prophecy. And I can’t say that this realm has worked for my benefit anyway. Perhaps, if she can actually destroy it… then I wouldn’t mind saving her! But of course I will make sure I am safe.” She shrugs.
“You are such a bit-“
“Uh-uh Mr Chris, I don’t think son of god is allowed to cuss.” I scoff.
“If the God cared enough for his son’s beliefs, then I wouldn’t have been an outcast, a fallen angel after all!”
“And none of this would have happened.”
We both sigh.
“Anyways, I better get going. I need to join high school tomorrow. Lots of work!”
“Yeah… I also have some… uh-work…”
“Oh shut up, you are going to climb up her window and look at her sleeping like a crazy stalker.” I blush and scratch the back of my head.
“You love her a lot right?”
“I do.”
“I wish you both could be together.”
“We are forbidden.”
“We will change that. I don’t want your love to be incomplete and sad. Only one of us can weep at a time. And right now? I am weeping.”
“I am sorry. If I’d known-“
“You still wouldn’t have been able to do anything. So drop it off.” I hug her and kiss her forehead.
“Now shall we leave? I have work to do and you have an asset to look after.” WHAT? AN ASSET! I glare at her.
“Oops, I mean, your “LOVE” to look after.” I pick her up and pin her to the ground. She gets up and kicks my torso, making me fall and clash towards the tree. She charges at me in full force, but I quickly get up and jump in the air. I see her trying to find me in her surroundings. I drop my jacket, she looks at her right and I choke her from the left.
“You cannot win against me.”
“I see you learnt some new tricks from humans huh?” I let her go and we both laugh.
“Need a ride?” I ask her showing my car keys.
“Who can say no to the mighty Chris huh?”
“She can!” I whispered and got in the car. Arianne settled herself too.

I dropped her at school and drove off to Irene’s house. I will protect you at all cost, My Love. Even though I am an outcast for my people, I will prove that I am nothing but a peacemaker who fell in love with you. The prophecy can’t stand between us anymore. Nothing can!
