Our Forever (Our Year Sequel)

Chapter Four

I took out my phone and called My mom. I knew she'd love to watch the kids tonight, she loved her grand babies more than anything.

"Hi, hunny!" My mom answered in her sweet voice.

"Hey, mom. How are you and Dad?" I asked while I watched Winter play. She had a biggest smile on her face as her bright eyes twinkled.

"We're wonderful! And how are my grand babies?"

I let out a chuckle, "They miss you, of course. I was wondering if you could watch them tonight? I'd love to have a date night with Serena."

"Of course! Did you hear that, babe?!" She squealed to my father. "We can pick them up!"

"Alright, mom, I'll see you guys soon." I laughed before she hung up.

"Winter, you and journey will be staying with grandma for the night."

"Nana!" Winter squealed before running over to me.

I couldn't believe how in love I was with this little girl. She was so incredible and mine.

I took her inside and watched her pack herself a little bag into her little pink suitcase. She was so adorable.

Whatever she did always brought a smile to myself, no matter what was going on in life my children made me feel better. I'm lucky I had such amazing parents in my life to show me love that I'm able to give back to my own children, to my wife.

"Oh, I think she's here."

Winter ran out of the room and I picked up her suitcase and her favourite stuffed animal that I knew she couldn't sleep without.

I seen Serena walking down stairs with Journey in her arms which made me smile.

When I arrived to the front area, my mom already have both of my children in her arms giggling.

"You're happy." I said as I put my arm around Serena.

"Of course I am! Thank you." With that, my mom left our house before we even got a chance to say bye to our children.

"Your mom really love those babies." Serena laughed while turning to me.

"She sure does." I smiled. "I want you to go get ready because I'm taking you out on a date."

Serena smiled and kissed me. "You have no idea how much I love you, Manning."

"I think I do." I leaned down to her kiss her. "Maybe we can work on having that third baby." I smirked against her soft lips.

"In your dreams," she laughed. "I'd like for our children to be a bit older before we even think of having another one."

"Come on, you're adorable when you're pregnant." She glowed so much while she was pregnant and her baby bump was incredibly adorable on her. I did miss feeling my babies kick and move whenever I touched her belly but them being here, being able to hold them is so much better.

Serena pecked my lips one last time and went upstairs to get ready for our date.

I went into the laundry room and changed into some clean clothes that were in there. I wanted to be surprised at what my wife chose to wear.

When I came into the living room, I was dressed in black dress pants and a white dress shirt. Serena was on the couch in a beautiful red sundress that went to her knees. Every time I seen her, she took my breath away. I couldn't believe I once was only going to be with her for a year. That year has turned into years.

"You look beautiful, baby."

Serena flashed her bright white teeth and got up off the couch.

I took her hand and lead her out to the car before we got in and our driver drove us to our favourite restaurant.

We stepped out of the car and flashes blinded my vision.

Our driver got out of the car and lead us into the restaurant as flashes and loud voices could be heard.

Serena let out a sigh of relief when we entered the restaurant.

We were quickly seated in the private area I always reserved for us and were served Serena's favourite wine.

"Thank you," Serena smiled at me.

"Of course, Baby."

"I really want a stake," She told me while I reached over the table and took her hand.

"That sounds nice, I'm wanting one too."

We ordered our food and we had the most perfect date filled with laughing and smiling.

I was incredibly scared of what would come after tonight. I need this woman to live, I needed her to keep me grounded and stable, she helped me love and be who I am. I need her more than anything, she is my life.
