Chapter sixteen:

Ian's pov

"We have a call down at the highschool" Blake says I drive to the high school. We grab the gurney and head in "she's in the bathroom" a security guard says. We rush in there she laid on the floor holding her stomach crying . I picked her up and laid her down. "Dad"she cries "it's ok baby" we rush her to the ambulance. Rachel passes out "Patient female age 17 she's pregnant 12 and a half weeks. She has high blood pressure and is very dehydrated" I say as I take her blood pressure and hook her up to an iv.

We arrive at the hospital and I wheel her in I follow her doctor. "Who are you in relation to the patient?"he asks "Father" I answer "well like you said she is dehydrated and has low blood pressure. We are gonna do an ultrasound to check on the baby" he takes out the machine and the heartbeat is strong. "The baby looks healthy and fine. Rachel needs to stay on bed rest for a week or two just to give her time to relax and make sure she drinks lots of water"I nod "When can I take her home?" I question "You can take her home now if you'd like." Rachel opens her eyes. "Is the baby ok?"she quickly "he's fine but you on the other hand need to speak louder when it comes to how you feel. You are to be on bed rest for two weeks. If you don't feel good you have to say something we don't want anything happening to you"I say "I'm sorry dad I am just trying to keep my life together before I become a whale." I hug her "What about my finals?"She ask "I had Mickey call your teachers they will let you take them online."

3.5 weeks later

I am tired of being stuck in bed the doctor extended bed rest by another week. I am now 4 months along and my stomach has gotten a little bigger. The book i've been reading says he should start kicking soon which I am kinda excited for. Ian and Mickey can't wait either. My morning sickness has gone away thankfully. Jax likes to come over and watch movies with me. He likes to talk to the baby. He's coming over tonight as well he's been here every night since I was in the hospital which I am very grateful for.

"Hello beautiful" Jax walks in with some roses "You didn't have to do that" I smile "Anything for my beautiful girlfriend" I blush when he says that. "How are you feeling?"he asks "Good" he looks at my stomach "hey buddy are you treating her right?"he puts his hand on my stomach. I felt a weird movement. "What was that?"he asks "I think he kicked". Jax's face lights up and he keeps talking. My dads aren't home so I can't do anything. "Rachel i've been meaning to talk to you about something" he says I look at him confused "I don't know if I want to give up our son" he what. "I mean just think about it he kicks for the first time when i'm talking. We have a special bond with him and I love you we can do this" he says "Jax.. I know that it seems like we can but we are just kids. Mickey and Ian will let you be in his life" Jax sighs "Just think about it Rachel?"I nod "Can we watch the movie please" he nods laying in bed with me.

I wake up to Mickey spraying Jax with a water bottle "get up" he says "dad please don't" I say "Rachel please it's late and you know what happened last time he was left alone with you"Mickey looks at my baby bump. I sigh "I'll call you" Jax says I blow him a kiss and he leaves. "What would you like for dinner?" my dad asks "hmm can you give me a burger with goldfish crackers on it?"Mickey nods and stand up "hey dad" he looks at me "The baby kicked today" he looks happy but disappointed "don't worry dad when he does it again i'll call you ok" he looks at me "ok love you"he smiles "love you too".

I put my hand on my stomach and thought about what Jax said he wants us to keep the baby. Maybe he's right maybe what happened today was a sign... no Rachel don't let him get into your head. "Hey baby I need to ask a favor. I just need a sign I am doing the right thing giving you to my dads" he starts kicking Mickey walks in "perfect timing" he looks at my hand "IAN"I yell Mickey puts his on the spot "hi buddy" he smiles Ian walks in "come here"I put his hand next to Mickey's. My son helped me decide I was doing the right thing. My son wanted to go to my dad's and he gave me the sign I was looking for.

My dads left the burger for me and went to bed. "Thank you"I say rubbing my stomach. I grab my phone and call Jax "Hey I thought about it and I'm sorry but I won't change my mind." I hear Jax sigh on the other end "I understand" he hangs up. Little did I know how much this would come to affect Jax later one.
