Chapter 6: Jennifer
"Hey, I was looking for you," said Mr. Governor Man.
"Um stalker," I breathed
"Huh," he looked confused.
"Oh, I said that out loud, sorry, anyways, what do you want?"
"I was going to ask you of you and your friends could do a quick assessment of the land outside the fort, I mean since were giving you free food and shelter it's the least you could do."
"Okay, no problem," my heart started racing at the thought of the adventure and excitement the search would provide. "Do you want me to look for survivors to?"
"Well of course," he spluttered, trying to make it seem like he meant that all along. I gave him a , 'How did you get into the mayor's office' look.
"We will be providing you with a special trailer for the job, it is in our garage, that way," he pointed to toward a large shed. I saw Floyd approach as the mayor walked away.
"Who's that stalker,' he muttered. I busted out laughing.
"Dude, calm down," he laughed. It turned into one of those moments where you didn't know what was funny, but you couldn't stop laughing (which seemed to be rather common in my old math class, I wonder why).
"The mayor," I instructed, finally managing to calm myself, "Get your stuff packed, we're leaving".
"Why," he inquired.
"Because 'Mr.stalker-govenor-weird-dude-man-thing' wants us to do a search for survivors outside the fort, and check out the situation. He'll give us a custom-made trailer for the job."
"Fine by me, why don't you get the trailer and pull it up by the gate, and I'll get Alice and we'll get all our stuff packed."
"Deal," I said as I set off for the garage. The garage had two doors, one facing inside, and the other part of the wall. The trailer was perfect. It was made pure steel except a minority of windows, and a windshield, all made of bulletproof glass. I took a self-guided tour, it was made of three stories, and a flat roof. I'll start with the bottom floor, it was the living quarters, it consisted of ten rooms, five acting as storage rooms, and the other five hosting a queen sized bed, and two dressers each. The second floor had two workshops, for wood and metal working, a large kitchen, and two bathrooms. I'm pretty sure Floyd's favorite floor was the second, because of the kitchen. But the third floor was my favorite, it was the arsenal. It hosted six rooms, Weapon Modifications Room, Long Range Guns, Silent Weapons, Close Range Weapons, Melee Combat Weapons, and Assault Rifles. The deck was surrounded by am electric fence with small 3 by3 foot gate-windows. There was a mounted MG on a stand in the middle of the deck. It had a gate that shut off a ladder that lead to the ground.
I set my stuff down in one of the bedrooms and made my way to the driver's seat. I pulled it out of the garage and up to the gate. Floyd and Alice were waiting there with all of our luggage. There were several new bags packed with guns.
"Nice," Floyd breathed as he brought our stuff in." Alice decided that I needed a workout," he added, explaining why he was caring everything.
"I'll get some," I offered, choosing only the new packs, knowing they contained the weapons.
"Wow, thanks man," he sneered, sensing my motives
"No problem," I laughed making my way for the third floor," the bedrooms are on this floor. He said some words that rhymed with mass bowl. I laughed as I walked up the stairs. When I got in the weapons rooms I noticed that there were already some weapons. I stocked our weapons in the appropriate rooms. They had some questionable weapons there, but they seemed damaging enough. I saw a list and figured out what the weapons were by my previous knowledge, and educated guessing. There were 5 AK-47's, 5 Galil's, 5 AKS-47's, 5 RPK's, 5 Chinese Type 52's, 10 Shaolin Spades, 20 Trench Spikes (WW2), ,10 Full Sized Crossbows,20 Hand Crossbows, 10 SPAS-12's, 10 M104's , 15 Pythons, 15 Desert eagles, 15 9 millimeter pistols.,5 Type C's, 5 Tabuks, 10 Mini Uzi's, 10 Kommando LDP's, and 10 M42's.
