"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Jeremy asks through the phone. Christian has him on speaker as he gets changed into different clothes.
"I know, Katherine, she isn't going to try anything" Christian shakes his head. "It's just a couple of drinks and I'll come find you afterwards."
"I'll wait up for you" Jeremy tells him making Christian smile. Christian then frowns his eyebrows as he hears a commotion in the background on Jeremy's end.
"What's going on over there?" Christian asks in concern.
"I don't know" Jeremy tells him honestly. "I think Damon's over here, they're arguing"
"I'm gonna come over, get Damon" Christian tells him.
"I'd hurry, he seems pretty upset"
"I'm coming now" Christian says hanging up and speeding out of the house.
Christian speeds towards the Gilbert house and stops at the front steps leading up to the front door. The moment he comes to a stop he sees a body blur out and knows it's Damon. Before he can follow his brother he hears Elena's screams.
"Elena?" Christian asks entering the house. He speeds up the stairs thinking that something had happened to her but what he sees makes his blood run cold.
Jeremy's laying on the ground with his neck snapped. Christian listens for a heartbeat but doesn't find one.
"Chris?" Elena whispers but Christian stares at Jeremy as his breathing becomes heavier. "Chis, wait!" But Christian doesn't listen to her. He speeds out of the house after his brother before Elena could tell him that Jeremy's wearing the Gilbert ring.
Damon knew that Christian would be coming after him and knew he would have to evade his little brother for as long as possible. While he knows Jeremy has the magic ring on he doubted that would matter to Christian.
Damon thinks for a moment but can't remember if he actually saw the ring before he killed Jeremy or not but he is very relieved with the fact that Jeremy did have it on. He knew Jeremy would come back and hoped he'd be able to get Christian off his back.
"He saw the ring, that's why he did it. He knew" Stefan tries to assure Elena while glancing at Jeremy anxiously. Elena had called him over after everything had happened. Stefan wanted to go after Christian and stop him but knew he wouldn't be able too. Christian is more experienced in killing vampires and he's a lot stronger as well. The only one capable of stopping Christian is Jeremy but the teenager would have to wake up first.
"He didn't see the ring" Elena snapped holding Jeremy in her arms. Stefan tries to get her to calm down and to see reason but it's hard with her dead brother in her arms.
When Jeremy finally wakes up he's startled. He gasps and sits up quickly while looking around. He half expected to see Damon there to finish the job but all he finds is Stefan and Elena.
