"I have a very important thing to go to, it might take a few months or so."
It took years.
"We hope you come back soon!"
I didn't.
"We will miss you!"
Would you still miss me now?
"I'll miss you all too!"
"Are you sure this is going to be alright?"
"Yes, I'm definitely sure about it."I'm not sure if my decision was right.
"Okay, we hope you stay safe.."
"I know I will, hope you take care of yourselves here."I shouldn't have left them. I could've stayed.
I'm currently standing right infront of what was supposed to be our humble house. It now looks abandoned, deserted, a forsaken place.
To those who live by would think the place was abandoned by the tenants for being haunted, or had heard a tale of previous residents having bad luck that's so horrid that it even caused death to them. But no, the house still houses the living. Well that's what I remember.
I slowly advance to the door. My shaky hands try to ring the doorbell. But before I could ring the bell, the door opened up.
I was expecting a huge welcome party inside. But all I got was an empty welcome. No one was waiting at the door for me.
I slowly walked into our house, waiting for one of them to surprise me. Still nothing.
I went to the kitchen to make a meal, after all it's almost dinnertime. I found my favorite apron by the fridge, right where I left it. I took it and I noticed that it was very dirty and it had a few holes. I still wore it for it will forever be my favorite.
I got some ingredients from the bag I brought back home. I thought of making everyone's favorite meal, so I did.
I finished cooking everything exactly on time. "Guys! Dinner's ready!" I called out.
No response.
"Come on guys, surprise! I'm back! I made dinner for you!"
Nothing.
I suddenly got worried. Why weren't they responding? Why aren't they coming for dinner? Why did no one open the door for me? Those question and more circling my mind.
I walked up the stairs, going to their rooms to call them all. I opened the closest door when I got up near the stairs. The room was a huge mess. Clothes are piled up in different areas. Some books on the floor, torned. The bed sheets are ruffled and are entangled with the pillows. The room was also filled with dust. I closed the door before I accidentally inhale the probably seven years worth of dust.
I walked to the next room. Also like the first door, I opened it. And like the first room, it was a mess. Looks like the room has overgrown some vines amd moss throughout this years. Some of them look burnt or something. Chemicals spilt all over a desk along with broken glass. A few dead rats can be seen near those substances.
I closed the door again, really worried about my family. I walked up to the last door. I reached for the doorknob, hands shaking. As I grab the doorknob I felt a sudden chill. I slowly turned the knob. Opened the door slowly. I closed my eyes so I can not see the same mess.
