A Change of Heart

Al forget about prom. I can't come. :(

Alvin was at school library early Friday morning, preparing for a major exam for that day when he got an SMS from Jane.

Why? I told you ako na bahala diba?
He replied. Few minutes later he got a reply from Jane.

Kahit na makahanap ka ng proxy. I really can't. I have bad case of bulutong. :'( :'( :'(

Jane filled the remaining space with crying emoticons. She must be really sad, Alvin thought. He then dialed her number to comfort her.

"Hello?" Jane answered in a broken voice.

"Kamusta pakiramdam mo?" tanong ni Alvin.

"I'm okay. Makati lang sa buong katawan and nabobore na ako sa room. Nakaquarantine kasi ako sa kwarto kasi hindi pa din nagkakabulutong si Charles. Sabi ni Mommy baka daw mahawa," sagot ni Jane.

"I'll  bring you books and DVDs nalang para di ka mabore. Dalin ko diyan after class," sagot ni Alvin.

"Diba hindi ka parin nagkakabulutong? Wag ka muna punta sa bahay. Baka mahawa ka din. Finals week niyo pa naman diba?" sabi ni Jane.

"Mas malakas naman resistensya ko kay Charles kaya okay lang. Basta dalin ko later ha? Wait for me," sagot ni Alvin.

"And where would I go? Diba nga may bulutong ako. Saka ewan ko kung makakaligtas ka sa watchful eyes ni Mommy," pabirong sagot ni Jane.

"Pilosopo ka... Sige, I need to go. Nagaaral pa ako sa finals. Please feel better."

For the whole day Jane just stayed in her room reading books and watching some movies. Dinadalan nalang siya ng food ng Mommy niya para di makahawa sa mga kapatid niya. While Alvin, on the other hand is very busy juggling his exams and basketball practice.  From time to time hindi nakakalimot na tumawag or magmessage si Alvin kay Jane. Alam niya kasi na for sure nabobore na yun dahil maghapon lang siya sa bahay.

That night, Alvin went to Jane's house para dalin yung mga binili niyang libro at DVDs kay Jane. Kaso dahil late na natapos ang basketball practice niya, late na rin siya nakarating sa bahay nila Jane. Si Tita Jen ang nagbukas ng gate para sa kanya, pero hindi din niya nakausap si Jane dahil nakatulog na daw ito kanina pa. Alvin just left his package to Tita Jen and went home, as he too was very exhausted. He really needs to sleep right away, but before going to bed he sent and SMS to Jane.

Sabi ko sayo antayin mo ako eh. Tinulugan mo naman ako.

The next morning, Jane woke up extra early to a sweet surprise. Pagkagising niya she saw new books and DVDS piled up on her bedside table. She felt excited right away. She checked the titles and she couldn't help but smile broadly. She checked the other pile,  but there's no note on it. Pero di na niya kailangan itanong pa kung kanino galing ang mga iyon, because she knows right away kung sino ang nagbigay ng mga iyon.
She got her phone to send a thank you message since maybe he's still asleep. She just then read his message last night.

Sorry nakatulog na ako kagabi sa sobrang kaboringan. :( Thank you sa mga books and DVDs!! I LOVE ALL OF THEM!! Bisitahin mo ulit ako mamaya? I'll wait for you na. Promise. :)

Alvin read her message when he woke up hours after. As much as he wants to visit Jane tonight, mukhang hindi niya magagawa dahil sa sobrang dami ng kailangan niya gawin sa school.

It's okay. Kailangan mo naman talaga magpahinga. I'm happy that you like all of it. :) BTW, I can't visit tonight coz of school work. Pero puntahan kita as soon as matapos ko lahat. Anyway, last week na naman to ng semester, after this I can hang out with you.
